I worked at Tutor Time Child Care Learning Center full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Able to help families feel comfortable that they are leaving their children in capable hands.

    Cons

Unable to pay child care providers enough so that turnover is not such a problem.
Training and development of part and full time employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come up with effective training schedule for the year so staff feel like you are investing in them .

    Pros

Kids and parents are amazing, they really value you, if you are not a creative person and can't think on your feet this lesson plan is for you.

    Cons

Horrible management, slightly racist, only cares about the money, pays you cents and dimes, will deny you your benefits even after working their for years. no considerate compensation for your time. Micromanage you all the time, 90% of the staff is unprofessional. HIGH HIGH TURNOVER RATE

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating your employees like they don't matter, stop talking down to people, and start appreciating your employees.

I worked at Tutor Time Child Care Learning Center full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of hours if it's not the Holiday Season
    Diverse community

    Cons

Get sent home once in ratio
Never get to work a full shift if they can avoid it to cut costs
They hire almost anyone in a crunch
Once admin doesn't like you, you know
Bad communication between director and HR about benefits. Worked there full time for over a year and never once received benefits or vacation/sick time
When you talk to district manager, things only get done in front of them but go back to the way they were once the manager leaves
    Not necessarily developmentally appropriate
DO NOT expect to practice assessments you learned in college. They have their own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Many of them are scared to come to you with issues for fear of job loss.

My coworkers were great, but management was very unstable in their decisions.

    Pros

    Great staff and great kids.

    Cons

One manager would make a decision about policy, and the other would contradict that decision and say that that wasn't policy. There were constant contradictions in hours, time off, and many other things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that the director is confident enough to make decisions and hold to them when challenged by lower management.

I have been working at Tutor Time Child Care Learning Center

    Pros

Other staff are nice and easy to get along with

    Cons

Admin don't care...they only care about money. They don't care if you have an emergency sickness, if you have an emergency situation, all they care about is getting their money. They either under staff or overstaff. They do not like giving overtime...if it looks like you will be going over in your hours, they will give you 2 or 3 hour lunches putting other staff in a bind

    Pros

Great getting to know the kids and parents.

    Cons

As a manager on salary I was worked to death. 10-11 hour days with no lunch break. The company is only concerned about money not the children. They would rather move kids around 3-4 times a day to different classrooms than hire another teacher. Hire turn over in teachers and management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
