I have been working at Tween Brands (less than a year)

    Pros

Tween's culture and work life balance is what warrants this 5-Star rating. There's a company-wide mindset where positivity is encouraged and is present in nearly everyone you talk to. It's a team environment in which hard work is acknowledged and rewarded, and management is there to support you and help you grow.

    Cons

Perhaps the only challenge I can note, if you'd even call it that, is that it is a very laid back environment, whicch may take getting used to if you're used to a more buttoned-up a atmosphere. That said, it does not lack professionalism in any way.

    I worked at Tween Brands

    Pros

This is an awesome company with a great message for their customer. I loved that the work was to inspire young girls to be confident in who they are. The company culture is strong with lots of perks and benefits. Very passionate about giving back.

    Cons

Poor management communication between teams. Some unprofessional behavior amongst management and team members. Company tends to stick to tried and true methods with little room for new innovation, even if previously used methods have been less effective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to fresh ideas and developing new talent. Communication is key.

    I worked at Tween Brands

    Pros

Tween Brands itself has great employee programs, events, and is generally a good place to work.

    Cons

The company was acquired during my tenure and my department was consolidated into the parent company. All of the great culture that was there when I joined, died off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more in touch with how change affects employees.

I worked at Tween Brands part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They pay a little more than minimum wage, or at least they did at the Justice store in Miami where I worked, but honestly that is not enough to make up for the awful people that shop there.

    Cons

The mall where I worked was mostly tourists and the LARGE LARGE LARGE majority of them were rude, entitled snobs who would drag me (the shortest person in the store) around getting things from the highest racks and shelves for their grown, equally rude, already overly entitled children. I did everything they asked, and more, with a smile but they treat you like you're a robot, not a person. Most of my managers were okay, although there was one that screamed at me for fixing the displays (which is in my job description).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let employees pick their schedules online the way Abercrombie and other companies do.

    Pros

This is a great place to work because of the way they take care of their employees. They have events throughout the year including private carnival, thanksgiving celebration, and annual golf outing.

    Cons

Working in design, as usual the hours are extended a bit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the working hours can be addressed the employees will be more happy.

I have been working at Tween Brands full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very easy going work environment, great work-life balance, great benefits (both in and out of the office), well structured company so opportunity to learn a lot

    Cons

Like any company, some departments were easier to work with than others. A lot of weight is put on personal development, but when it comes time for promotions practices are a little backwards. Sometimes I think luck wins out over hard work.

    Pros

A fun and easy job. Getting to help pick out outfits for the girls is fun. A pretty laid back environment. This job has been a great starter job for me. If you work hard and show initiative, you will be able to move up in your store.

    Cons

Nothing different than any other retail job. Unless you're upper management, the pay is not so great. Working with the general public can often be draining.
