I worked at Tyco full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

When you work there it has a family type atmosphere. If you need help there is someone to help and guide you

    Cons

Like I said above it is a family type setting. Just like family there are people that will stab you in the back to make themselves look better no matter how much they have to lie about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great environment and fantastic people. A great mix of challenge and reward along with day to day almost familial bonds with co-workers. Great balance of work life balance and awesome flexibility.

    Cons

Very difficult to advance in this company without a degree.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better decision making and planning ahead. Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat. Think ahead.

I have been working at Tyco full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people and work environment. The work is steady and not overbearing. When interacting with other colleges, everyone is friendly and helpful. Managers are not harsh or abusive, they expect you to keep moving forward on your projects, but provide great guidance and advice when you may need it.

    Cons

The Economy has caused some incentive promotions and cost of living increases to be short in the last few years. The out of pocket cost of health insurance has also increased.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They are always there to help , guide and support. keep up the good work.

I worked at Tyco as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Management was clear about requirements of the job.
Users were clear about what they needed, and bout their capabilities.

    Cons

I was only a one-month consultant. It was hinted that there was more work, but I never had the opportunity to look at it.
