    Pros

It is a snake pit pure and simple. Stay away because your health is more important than working for this company.

    Cons

Bullying, stirring the pot, lying, innuendos and harassment are common place and part of the culture. Do not believe the Tyco Ethics guidelines. What is the point of saying you have these rules in place when you do nothing to help the employees that are being hurt?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

George Oliver when are you going to address this issue? Do something.

    Pros

    Decent Benefits and Time off.

    Cons

Management cannot sustain goals enacted by company, worse than that to compensate it tries to enact rules to govern employees reducing morale. Bad History of corruption.

    Pros

Company car if you are lucky enough to get one. Decent people that work in the field for the most part.

    Cons

Oh boy! Where do I start. Low wages, terrible raises, no room for growth within unless you are in the boys club! Hire temp employees all the time instead of getting a full time guy and teaching them how to do the job. They would rather pay a temp more money then you make to do half the work that you do. Take my advice run! Stay away from this company biggest mistake I ever made in my life was working here. Glad I got out of this place. They watch you like a hawk here always monitoring your GPS on your company vehicle. You could work overtime everyday and not claim it on your time sheet then one day you get home literally 1 min early and you catch hell about it. It's all about numbers here it's a numbers game they would rather make there numbers look good then worry about the customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Big problems here hope you can get it figured out so the employees can stop hating there jobs.

I have been working at Tyco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some really good people throughout the company; especially at the technician, support, and sales levels. There are always opportunities of higher positions as people are constantly leaving.

    Cons

Senior management is clueless on what is happening in the field internally and externally. HORRIBLE SERVICE to our customers!!!! NO TRAINING (new or continuous besides some etools check the box type of stuff), have adopted Acclivus but only have budgeted for introductory class. Getting paid is a nightmare and understanding pay plan requires a degree in mathematics. Uses Salesforce.com as a forecasting, micromanagement tool only. Has no clue how to maximize on a CRM tool for the good of the external customer, not senior management. President of the company is a bean counter; not a strong leader at all. Its really an unhealthy place to work! Would never want my kids to work here; just not worth the stress and overall misery.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of your people.

Reassess the way service strategy and delivery is being measured. Regional and local companies are mopping the floor against us.

I worked at Tyco as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

My direct manger was a great supportive person but was clearly and often struck down by upper level mangers. The office (Cranston) I worked in had a great culture, but I was told that was pretty unique to our office.

    Cons

I have never seen so many filling cabinets in my life. Tyco is an old school company and it was clear during my time there that becoming more modern and adopting new technologies was causing growing pains.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Embrace technology its coming.
