I have been working at Tyco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benifits are not bad, vacation is good.

    Cons

favoritism, low pay, don't care if you have a family. broken down equipment; worried about bringing in robots to do job and don't bother to fix the other equipment that works with it. Never get what is needed to complete product on time. Always working into the weekend. 60 hour weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to keep managers and supervisors. Everyone leaves. Give better pay..don;t tell us that the company pays at or above what other companies in area do. Lowest paying company in Marinette. Bad Morale..nobody likes working here except for those that get there way. CEO has no idea what goes on in this company. Everything is hidden when they come to check in.

    Pros

Great co-workers, friendly atmosphere to work, learn and grow. High qualiy of work is expected and people are very professional. Managers are very respectful and provide a good work life balance.

    Cons

Difficult to get promotions, career growth is very slow, therefore people are unhappy. There is perpetual hiring freeze and layoffs happen periodically.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Investing in talent and providing career growth to people will motivate them to perform at their highest potential.

I worked at Tyco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great general counsel. Very open and collaborative legal team. Lots of upward advancement opportunity. Interesting global work in a very matrixed environment.

    Cons

Change is constant. While legal department is stable, and for the most part happy, other functions really struggle with leadership, ambiguity and receiving feedback.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More communication with employees.

I worked at Tyco full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great place to work, when old management team was around.

    Cons

Engineers are just a number and expendable... They are killed the golden goose when they bought the well run companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

First it was to buy companies for synergies. Now it is split them up so they can focus on their business.... Back to the way it was. Execs get rich, everyone else pays.

I worked at Tyco full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It is a good workplace to grow for people that are new to the company.

    Cons

The company suffered a lot from the multiple splits and spinoffs it had in the last 5-8 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Now that the major spinoffs are done, to focus is to grow in the core areas of the company either by market share or acquisition.

Very interesting what goes into these products very good work group coworkers speak up about there opinion and share ideas

    Cons

Poor training and lack of communication there is no quality no more it's all about quantity no compassion for employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to communicate to your employees and not with hold any information if there's a problem out on the floor supervisors or lead people need to let the employees know and individuals shouldn't be singled out get rid of the trouble makers and the ones who stand around wasting company time

I have been working at Tyco full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Plenty of interesting work and a lot of activity. Continuously spinning off businesses since 2007 Tyco is always changing structure. This results in fertile new ground to effect change.

    Cons

Not enough staff to handle all the work. Full court pressure to reduce costs and headcount. Continuous structure changes means constantly changing organization structure and reporting relationships. Pay and benefits are middle of the road.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Big culture change since Ed B. stepped down as CEO. Constant focus on reducing costs gets lost on staff like a constant rattle in your air conditioner, eventually you ignore it.

I worked at Tyco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefit and work-life balance. It offered a respectful culture and management seems to be appreciated of workers

    Cons

Too relax and offered little work challenges, lots of waste. It's a very political place where you need to know the right people to be moving up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop your people and try to create some work challenges for your staff. Continued learning and the ability to apply the knowledge in a job is very important or else everyone will be brain-dead.
