Pros
work life balance such as flexibility to work from home
relatively flat orgnazational structure
lay back culture, not a lot of aggressiveness
Cons
Little career advancement opportunity. you will have to take charge of your own career development
you don't feel intellectual challenged
Advice to Senior Management
improve hiring practice and hire smart people
enhance the managment skill training
stop promoting "wrong" type of person to manager position
Pros
-"banker " hours
-Paid Time Off
Cons
-incompetent managers
-lack of communication
-lack of compensation
-unrealistic expectations
Pros
A high level of competence among my colleagues, respect for all people (race, religion, lifestyle, gender), and many opportunities to advance laterally and upward. If you bring effective intelligence, integrity, and a dedication to the client experience you will be embraced and rewarded by management.
Cons
Because it is a large centralized bank, local decision making is over ridden and standardized by upper management. For example, when we rolled out the Private Client Reserve in January 2009 to segment the larger trusts and larger relationships into a higher touch environment, the process was chaotic and completed with a machete. In completing the migration we alienated almost everyone (bank staff and clients, included).
Advice to Senior Management
The roll out of the Private Client Reserve was difficult at best and a disaster for many of our best clients. If you roll out a similar change again, e.g. creating another level for the higher net worth individuals, use a scalpel to hand pick the migration upwards, but don't wholesale drop the level of services to those left behind. We could have offered a lower cost, lower touch environment as an alternative to those who do not want the higher fee/higher touch delivery channel.
Pros
The staff and management I work under, makes it an excellent place to come to everyday.
Cons
The pay could be better
Pros
Good opportunities to advance. Easy going, laid back atmosphere. No pressure work. Good benefits.
Cons
Technologically it can improve its IT department.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more in newer technologies.
Pros
Great pay and great people.
Cons
You never know when something may change or when they will decide to change guidelines until the day they go into effect sometimes. Meaning you left scrambling for answers sometimes and people who are supposed to be above you cannot always assist you with problems or questions.
Advice to Senior Management
More training for those who need it. Not the ones who do not. Need more clear direct responses to problems and or questions. Getting a bunch of different answers to one question makes it extremely difficult to perform the job at times. I also think that employees individual performance needs to out weigh what is happening inside a group.
Pros
I worked wth a great staff and a very supportive management team. I enjoyed the customers and for the most part, I had a great time at work.
Cons
Some of the downsides of working at U.S. Bank were that taking time off was not permitted without the use of vacation time. There were not "personal days" or days without pay.
Advice to Senior Management
The only advice that I would give is to cotinue to work with your team members in a positive way. I would also say, do not forget to praise the staff for their hard work.
Pros
Stable company, professional yet casual environment, good benefits
Cons
Poor pay, tough to advance within the company, too many corporate regulations that should not apply company wide, behind the curve technology wise.
Advice to Senior Management
Give me more money!
Pros
Strong opportunities for supportive growth and development
Cons
Pay is not as high as peer banks, but benefits are decent.
Pros
benefits package, training, corporate leadership
Cons
district, regional leadership, training, verbal abuse
Advice to Senior Management
numbers are not everything-listen to your employees
