Pros
Work was not hard. Decent pay.
Cons
Management was decent, needs improvement.
Pros
They promote within.
CEO Richard Davis vision for company is positive.
Good work is rewarded well.
Training is very good.
I loved my job and looked forward to retiring with this company
Cons
At times felt like I was in high school do to the district management (a lot of back stabbing)
If not liked (personal reason) at district office you are black balled
Consist within job titles and treatment not there
Advice to Senior Management
Richard Davis is amazing and he should be more aware of what is happening in other regions. When you see a large turn over in one area, it may just be the upper management.
Pros
Flexible work schedule and aggressive commission scale.
Cons
Outdated technology. Originating system copywrite is 1984. Products are geared toward subprime and management wants to force people into bad loans when they qualify Conforming because of the profit margin. Basically they are encouraging predatory practices.
Advice to Senior Management
Go to a good bank like Fifth Third and learn how a lending division should be ran.
Pros
Very conservative bank. Can be good or bad. But conservative nature resulted in one of the strongest regional banks. Stable career if you decided to stick it out for long term.
Cons
Slow to upgrade technology and each business group is located in various locations through out the country which can be a challenge to collaborate with colleagues.
Advice to Senior Management
They need to provide better technology support so workers can perform their jobs effectively. Also, they seems to be limited opportunities to move around.
Pros
Decent benefits.
Among the better large banks.
Employees and managers are generally friendly.
Management politics are minimal.
Strong product lineup.
Cons
Extremely disorganized.
Sub-par technology.
SERIOUS disconnect between senior and middle management.
Intense sales pressure from middle management results in salesy culture.
Transactional. No relationship model. Lots of in-fighting over customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management is visionary, but the execution in the lower levels is a joke. Client interaction is generally only to stoke sales numbers. Sales staff is always talking about what they need for their scorecards, rather than what client needs. Everyone worried about others in the bank trying to steal their deals. I've never worked anywhere that so many people were fired for so many reasons (I wasn't). Unprofessional. Retail and Small Business need to be divided. USB has potential if it would walk the talk.
Pros
Employees are welcoming to new comers, fair company requests with referrals/points
Cons
Little training and resources, high employee turn over, bonuses/incentives are based on overall branch performance and few if any branches make goals, also little to no opportunity for advancement within the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow branch managers to spend more time inside the branch interacting with existing customers versus outbound calls, change the teller incentive plan to not be based on branch performance rather individual performance, the same as bankers bonuses are determined.
Pros
The senior level management definitely shows a clear message of how they would like to take the company in the future. A lot of tools provided to training and career advancement.
Cons
The pay is below average for similar companies. The health care benefits are definitely below standard. Some middle managers are more concerned with micromanaging than the happiness of their employees.
Pros
The bank hours are nice, and the benifits are't to bad.
Cons
The low pay is a drag.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work.
Pros
Large bank that felt like a small bank. Great opportunity for advancement if you are doing your job. Good worklife balance.
Cons
Needs a severe technology upgrade. Systems are outdated and do not work well together. Branches need to be updated also.
Advice to Senior Management
Stay on top of what today's customer is looking for. Also try to understand that the younger employees do not respond well to negative criticism.
Pros
Great Co-workers; and Managers who care.
Cons
Lack of technology makes me inefficient at my job.
