Pros
Some of the position, you even don't need to think at all. There is a lot of Nice coworkers. The bank also has a lot of paid day off.
Cons
The salaries is low. The company still use a lot of old technologies. The computer is super slow. Most of the benefit is not available for the part-time employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Be closer to the lower lever people, don't just hang out with the same level of management. Please don't just talk on paper.
Pros
Steady work, salary is fair, good people in some areas, nature of work can be very easy, goals are fairly low in some areas
Cons
Terrible favoritism, terrible leadership in upper management, sales goals are high in some areas, very narrow idea of "perfect" employee, awful working environment
Advice to Senior Management
Hiring managers should have personal relationships/friendships with potential employees (conflict of interest!), good employees who meet/exceed the goals YOU have provided should be rewarded for that, not forced to continue on because they don't spend time brown-nosing, smoking with, or sucking up to managers in other areas.
Pros
The pay was better that minimum wage
I met some great people (coworkers)
They provide 5 weeks of training
Cons
30 minutes for lunch
Metrics are not balanced
support takes forever not enough
the 1 on 1 coaching is a JOKE
Advice to Senior Management
Micro management is not good for moral and betters nothing, managers should actually take calls at least 1-3 hours a month to stay keen on procedures and to understand first hand why the metrics are not balanced.. you are asking for speed and quality but there needs to be an adjustment to the speed in which we are expected to finish.
Pros
They promote within.
CEO Richard Davis vision for company is positive.
Good work is rewarded well.
Training is very good.
I loved my job and looked forward to retiring with this company
Cons
At times felt like I was in high school do to the district management (a lot of back stabbing)
If not liked (personal reason) at district office you are black balled
Consist within job titles and treatment not there
Advice to Senior Management
Richard Davis is amazing and he should be more aware of what is happening in other regions. When you see a large turn over in one area, it may just be the upper management.
Pros
They tend to keep their employees.
Cons
The bank seeks to run on part time, low paid, replaceable employees with everything centralized and uniform. There is a tendency not to promote within. The good job openings tend to be filled from outside of the bank.
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of always going outside the bank to consultants for advice on how to run the business, management might seek the input from those in the organization who know the business.
Pros
They want smart people and I have never disliked a fellow employee. They work hard to make sure they hire the right people.
Cons
The stress put on management trickles down heavily to their base. Tellers and bankers are under stress that makes them second-guess themselves.
Advice to Senior Management
Take stress of your tellers and bankers. Be positive and kind. We will work hard for you.
Pros
Pay is good for some areas
Coworkers are pretty laid-back, smart individuals
Predictable
Cons
Very numbers based thinking, hypocrites when they say they want customer service when really they mean customer's money is priority. Recently began charging sales tax on lease late fees, maintenance fees on checking accounts, basically money hungry
Advice to Senior Management
Clearly delineate what is rewarded. You say customer service but then you reward the bullies!
Pros
I really enjoyed working for USBank at their call center. Had the best manager ever, worked on a great team. Manager cares about her employees and visa versa. Only left because of family issues or would still be there, selling those business credit cards, checking accounts etc.
Cons
Upper upper management, scratching their heads alot, not a clue. Thankfully didn't have to deal with them much
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the great job! Try not to let upper upper management bring you and your team down. Best manager and team ever!
Pros
Degree helps, but isn't necessary. There are positions for several levels of experience and know-how. Paid time off and benefits are good compared to similar sales jobs.
Cons
Schedule changes every week, with in store branches being open extended hours, you may get stuck with a horrible schedule. Some managers can be political and promote who they like, rather than giving a fair shake to everybody. Incentives are poor, it's hard to make much more than base salary.
Advice to Senior Management
Re-evaluate the incentive plan, focus less on numbers and more on quality and improving customer relationships.
Pros
good company culture and ethics
good communication of goals and values to employees
a lot of career advancement opportunities
awesome employee perks and banking services
Cons
unrealistic referral goals for hourly employees (less than 20 hours per week)
Advice to Senior Management
keep up the good work!
