Current Employee – been working at U.S. Bank full-time for more than a year
Pros – - Great culture
- Very strong and well managed financial institution
- Good work/life balance
- Rewards performance
Cons – - Low starting salary (although I did not have the required experience and I was given the position, so it is understandable I was given a lower starting salary)
Advice to Senior Management – No advice. Upper management, especially CEO Davis, are some of the best in the industry.

Current Employee – been working at U.S. Bank full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Mutual leadership. Excellent core values and ethics. Sense of community throughout departments and room to move up or gain experience quickly.
Cons – Parking downtown is expensive. Some departments are continually ranked poor and slow and no apparent action is taken to correct the issues.
Advice to Senior Management – Take more random input throughout the year and not just one large survey

Current Employee – been working at U.S. Bank full-time for less than a year
Pros – - Room to advance
- Encouragement by management to increase job skills and advance within the company
- Online training and mentorship programs
- Toastmasters available at some sites
- Well-used employee recognition system
- Excellent Intranet: IT, HR, and everything you need
- Use of virtual teams for Elan subsidiary and some other departments
- Great benefits packages, inclusive for same sex couples
- Lots of diversity
- Encourages ideas from employees; ideas used are publicly acknowledged and employee is rewarded
- Employees that have been there 30, 40, 50+ years and are still happy
- Millennial team that advises management on what that generation responds to
- Community service is encouraged by the company, 16 paid hours a year to go out and volunteer
- Commitment to veterans; banking packages, emphasis on hiring vets, plus bank volunteers send care packages and so on
- A company that actually focuses on customer service rather than giving lip service like some other companies
Cons – Technology could use some upgrades, but to their credit, it is clearly a focus and an ongoing effort
Advice to Senior Management – Continue what you are doing. You're moving the right direction. I recommend you expand your use of telecommuting, where possible and for those individuals that prefer it. Virtual teams are cost-saving and make for more productive employees. Remember to empower your introverts: they can do wonderful things for you and if they're in a job that can be done from home, you'll get even more from them.

Pros – It's a large conservative bank with a great culture. Great place to work and a lot of oppopportunity for growth without the cut-throat environment at other firms.
Cons – Technology is a little behind but it gets the job done. Need to spend some money to improve branches.

Pros – I've experienced tremendous support for furthering my career by managers and colleagues who have been great mentors.
Cons – We tend to be late adapters in advanced technology, but be patient, it's getting better every day.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue working toward improving collaboration across business lines, seeking strategic partnerships with external firms, and improving technological efficieinces.

Current Employee – been working at U.S. Bank full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great place to work. Very focused on employee development for employees who express and demonstrate the desire for it. High on employee loyalty. Fantastic job security. Best of all, this employer is not about to shut it’s doors. They listen to feedback from employees. Make you feel like you are an important part of the team, starting all the way from the most basic positions all the way to the top.
Cons – Call it a job, call it a career, they all have things you don't enjoy. Get over it and focus on the great things.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue with employee development. If possible, beef it up even more. This is a wonderful company with a CEO who started as a teller. Continue to demonstrate to the staff that this was not a miracle. Continue to demonstrate that employees at U.S. Bank can and do move up in this organization. Continue to instill in Management across the company to make their employees a part of the team and emphasize how the work they do is an important part of the big picture of U.S. Bank.
