    Pros

Benefits were great and a cool industry to work in.

    Cons

Came on board and had a great experience and the culture was great. Over time, it eventually began to shift with changing leadership and just less of a vision and focus on what previous CEO Jack Rooney had built. He left a lasting impression on the company but unfortunately didn't last long enough. It was a get the work done mentality with little room to build strong relationships or a positive environment. Top down just didn't keep up the emphasis on their employees and it shows as more and more left after each month.

All this culminates to the continuous downward spiral of the organization. This lack of vision shows in their lack of concern for their customers. Big issues caused a lot of churn over the last couple years and did little internally to stop the bleeding and really understanding or caring for what the customer was actually going through.

    Advice to Management

Refocus on the culture and your people, what made U.S. Cellular a great place to work at.

    Pros

Good benefits. Decent pay. You can advance if you're willing to move.

    Cons

They've lost their focus. The value of the customer has become a bit cloudy.

    Advice to Management

It starts at the top. Company bought a Midwest company and retained most of their upper management. Since then Jack left and the quickly passed away while the new folks drove this place into the ground. The company is on it's way to being sold. With Carlson family getting older and this being a "project" for them. CEO is very sharp but from TDS. He's gonna guide USCC into a sale and land softly back with TDS.

    Pros

Generous commission and pay relative to required experience, flexible scheduling, sense of community in stores, low pressure environment, can learn quite a bit about sales, technology, and business if motivated to do so.

    Cons

Co-workers and management can be a bit dramatic, the company changes commission structure periodically which can be stressful and create uncertainty, general issues with working for a corporation including periods of micromanagement, especially when a new policy is being implemented.

    Pros

Complex, dynamic and Interesting industry. Many great people. Challenging accounting environment offering opportunities to learn. Never a dull moment.

    Cons

The company is struggling for footing in a very competitive market place. Internally there are weak processes and accountabilities for business results. Under investment in back office infrastructure. Many manual processes. Management unfocused.

    Advice to Management

Focus on a few things and do them well. Nothing new here.

    Pros

You get to learn a lot offers good benefits for some that's single or two people working it pays good. They offer part time if you need it

    Cons

They change the compensation package it's all based on percentage to the point that commission structure it's a joke. Not only that but they put the quota so high that is unrealistic for the traffic that us cell has. They made you do multiple positions at once, inventory coordinator, cashier, greater, tech, telemarketer (out of all this was the worst one to do as i am not a telemarketer) among other things and don't forget to meet your quota! I was one of the top sales people and after the pay change I was making $2000 less on every commission check selling the same amount I did in the past what a scam.so much for their advertisement of unlimited income potential

    Advice to Management

Realize that you are losing all the top sells people by your pay structure only the people who don't have financial reliability at home will stay. You can't burn the candle in both ends, more work for less pay is a bad formula.

    Pros

pay, sick time, amount of vacation and personal time, make a lot of good friends, 401k and insurance, mostly good management

    Cons

customers attitudes, being put in customer service involuntarily, discrepancies between seniority- there doesn't seem to be calibration in management, open 365 days a year so have to work holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas, poor schedules and not many opportunities to get a normal schedule

    Advice to Management

make sure when associates change leaders they are all calibrated, its not fair to go from one person and you are doing great to someone else that has totally different expectations..everyone should be unified and on the same page
