I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you are a patrol driver you spend most of your time on your own without supervision. Flexible schedule.

    Cons

Long shifts, not a lot of interaction with other people if you are a patrol driver. Not a lot of opportunity for career advancement.

    Cons

There is a severe lack of communication.Unless you go to the office you can't get in contact with people there. Can't leave messages cause their mailboxes are always full. And they don't return calls or e-mails.This seems to be the hammond office,For a major company i am disappointed.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Was told when hired work is part time now "but we have 5 other places in the are we can place you" you will get full time hours. Never Happened!

    Cons

You can never reach your supervisor, even the after complaints to home office, they could not even reach the supervisor or district manager. I have been waiting for 5 months of back pay, per corporate, branch office never submitted, still waiting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company has an ethics line! yeah sure! means nothing, branch office just fills spots then forgets about you, company had me as full time then when contract changed at facility, was working 60 hours a week, no more hours just after I signed up for benefits. Now cannot afford benefits. Get some "real" people to run your branch offices and check up on them make sure they do what they tell employees.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They try to get you 40 hours per week.

    Cons

Communication issues; send you to a post then call you to tell you it is cancelled. Rover is not the position you want unless you want part time. Best to get a permanent post.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

if someone is willing to work for it and asks for a certain post then make sure you help them get it and don't take months to help them get it.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There aren't very many. It is easy to get hired and to start working immediately. The job itself is very easy.

    Cons

There are so many cons with this company I don't even know where to begin. When I was hired I was told I would have a supervisor position within a month, well it's been a month and a half and nothing yet. I have not gotten paid since I have gotten hire and my supervisors seem uninterested in determining why. The pay is low, there is no work/life balance because they expect you to be available 24/7, and next to no benefits. There is a large lack of communication between the supervisors and they really don't care about how much sleep you've had as long as you jump when they say jump and come in for the shift. In college and need time to study?, they don't care. Even if you tell them your days off are dedicated to studying they will still call you and get pissed off when you decline a shift.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

New uniforms, They do promote from with their company. I feel this is very important to my anyway.

    Cons

Sloppy Management! They want you to be professional and look professional and they look like undercover drug dealers. Don't shave, uniforms not pressed, shoes not shined and they are my bosses. Practice what you preach. Always complaining about their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set the example by using the correct example, or be the example. Act professional at all times and conduct business appropriately. Stop the buddy system, just because you have been there should not mean your the man that gets promoted! Evaluate your guards completely and then make a decision on who gets promoted. If your my boss stop telling me how bad you have it with the company. If you unsatisfied with your position or situation. Change jobs! O yeah when I call to ask a question don't make me feel like I am a burden. Have a good attitude! Remember I work for you.
