    Pros

There is no good things about ths company

    Cons

I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You meet good, decent, honest, hard-working people and network with people who can help you advance in your career (just not at USSA) and in life.

    Cons

Management rewarded the lousy employees and screwed over the good employees. Management makes no effort to retain the good employees, yet complains about the cost of bringing in new hires. The training is sub-par at best. Management makes little to no effort to accommodate employee schedules.

The pay, while not the lowest in the industry, still sucks and the company won't work with employees who find it necessary to work a second job to make ends meet. Raises weren't given as promised in the interview and the company has no type of reward system, but will discipline you at the drop of a hat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your head out of your butt and listen to your employees. Stop protecting the bad employees and disrespecting the good ones. Understand people need more than $9.00 per hour to live on. When you tell new hires they'll get a raise after 6 months of employment, give them the raise!

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They give you a chance even if your prior job experience isn't extensive.

    Cons

Upper management only cares about the client. Employee's have no voice and are often mistreated. Upper management constantly asks for favors but never returns the favors. Poor compensation and treatment leads to a high turnover rate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees and treat them better and quality might improve.

I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I met some good people that work for the company. other than that there are no pros.

    Cons

Management is dodgy, hard to get uniforms or supplies, the branch office has very little staff and nobody in management wants to help you when you have issues. Pay issues very frequently including incorrect pay rates, pay shortages, and they have even changed the pay schedule with little notice. Pay is low and the quality officers you have to work with is poor and when other people call out you have to pull their shift and work a double if necessary and with no notice, and if you don't you get in trouble.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more involved and stop being so flaky and dodgy. Return your phone calls in a timely manner and make sure the officers have the supplies they need to do their job. It wouldn't hurt to negotiate a better pay rate for the officers when you get the contracts and stop low balling just to win the bid. minimum pay = poor quality employees.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates

    Pros

This is a great company to work for. One of the largest security companies in the world which provides professional security personnel .

    Cons

The only con would be that they don't hold many contracts in the Imperial Valley.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would find someone to represent USSA in the Imperial Valley and bid on these contracts. Most are settling for whats available.

    Pros

good company better than a lot other security company i have worked for. better pay than many other security company. better chances for growth

    Cons

You will need to write a lot of reports. Writing reports is something that all security guards must do, because it helps to log and keep track of everything suspicious that goes on while you're on duty. These reports may be used in court or to help clarify any incidents that may have occurred, so you need to know how to write well

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    better managment
