Pros
Pros: Reputable employer, great atmosphere, excellent benefits package, very friendly and open working environment, generally I would recommend it as it is one of the best employers in Krakow.
Cons
Whether opportunities for growth are real here, it is still debatable. Work may be repetitive as it is outsourcing business.
Advice to Senior Management
Good work overall.
Pros
Good benefit
Ample opportunity for on-site training
Cons
Strict Hierarchical IT development is the road block to adopt to most recent industrial trend
Advice to Senior Management
Some time it's good to listen to developer's suggestion
Pros
If you are interested in doing financial services, UBS is a good place to go due to its world famous prestigy in financial services industry, nice working environmentd
Cons
UBS Financial Services works in the form of "teams'. it is similar to a franchise that you are responsible for your own revenue and expenses
Advice to Senior Management
Just started the job recently so do not know too much about the leadership there, hopefully it is good there
Pros
Compensation and benefits are above average. There are ample training opportunities, both technology and business related. There are an abundance of talented colleagues.
Cons
I had two of the worst managers I've ever had in my 25 years of working experience. One couldn't care less about anything except playing with his iPhone all day and the other was the ultimate micro manager. Everyone there is in cover my ass mode, no responsibility taken for anything. Desktop technology is hopelessly outdated and the technology provided for remote access is laughable, I had better remote access in 1988. Ridiculous layers of process to get anything done. Bottom line is I couldn't stand being there every single day.
Advice to Senior Management
Jeez can you try to not screw every client and government agency you work with? It really got old reading about UBS being sued or litigated every week, all across the globe. Integrity is not exactly pervasive across the organization.
Pros
challenging, competitive and no place for free riders.
Cons
Not Applicable to me at least
Pros
Great opportunity to learn and grow.
Cons
Depend on the function where you are working for.
Advice to Senior Management
mobility and retention
Pros
UBS is one of those companies where it's so big and there are so many different types of environments depending on where you are located, your job function, etc., that it's tough to broadly characterize benefits to working here. In a crude attempt to do so however, I'll say that this is a great place to have on your resume. It has international recognition, experts in several finance-based practices work here, and it is a fine place to grow/develop or move on from.
Cons
When morale is low it is LOW. I worked here at the height of the financial meltdown and things were very bad. People were cynical and had bad outlooks about their position in the company. The company also gets a bad rap from client tax scandals, taking bailouts, and poor investment practices. That being said, this may not be unlike so many other large Wall Street players that have problems of their own.
Advice to Senior Management
Stay true to your conservative roots. Don't take reckless risks as you did in the past and try to make this firm an anamoly among other Wall Street banks: a place that is less cutthroat, more family-friendly, and client focused.
Pros
Great platform for WM client - One bank concept
Cons
Recognition of workers needs to be improved
Pros
The quality of services they offer.
Their brand value.
Their IT Infrastructure.
Their compensation and benefits offered to it's employees.
Cons
Too much of Senior Management involvement in day to day operations (even the tiniest), rather they concentrating on the big picture.

If the authority level is set & maintained, things can get back UBS to it's glorious times it had in the past.
Pros
Many talented people working for UBS. In CH, it is a brand that still has some weight. Compensation and benefits are on the level of the market. There have been attempts done to create positive changes on the culture.
Cons
Lack of strong leadership both on the top and middle management and this influences the loss of the talented people to the market/other Banks. Very silo-ed. Change is extremely difficult to do here. Internal politic is quite intense during this period and somewhat the organisation seems to be "senior rank-heavy".
Advice to Senior Management
Changes are welcome during this recovery period however senior management needs to lead and be the example for the employee (walk the talk!!!). Communicate with the population timely. Ensure the 2nd and 3rd management layers are staffed with competent leaders who care about people yet strong business leaders too. UBS needs a lot of more of this type of leaders to move things forward and to unleash its potential.
