I worked at UBS Investment Bank as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Nice people for the most part, Pros are you will get to meet cultures from all over the world. Personal Growth may take you longer than expected as in my experience you don't get to meet the people that can impact your career much as it's such a expansive company.

    Cons

Con's would be they seem to make decisions that aren't always best for the company and just come from the Hierarchy. Felt like a number more than an important part of a company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hierarchy should not be so ego based and should let the people decide what's best for them more than the fat cat's.

    Pros

The company has good benefits and reasonable time off policies.

    Cons

Their business practices need a much improved moral compass.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at UBS Investment Bank full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a good time when the market was going up. Pay was going up, and everyone were nice and happy.

    Cons

It was not a good time when the market was going down. Pay plummeted and there were layoffs galore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nice. It 's better to keep employees on board at a lower compensation rate, than to lay them off completely.
