    Pros

UBS does a fantastic job at informing its employees on the front lines of financial services about what's going on in the world: whether it be in commodities or equities or fixed income, etc. UBS also has an exotic culture and exclusive clientele because of its Swiss roots.

    Cons

The company's investment bank has been downsizing big time since the financial crisis. Definitely not the place for prospective investment bankers; however, the number one in wealth management.

    Pros

UBS is a good bank to work for if you are looking for work.life balance. They are going through some big restructuring changes so there is not much opportunity at the moment

    Cons

Not so great training opportunities, possibly because of the market condition

    Pros

Many good people at one time, though a good portion of the good ones seem to have left for stronger firms.

    Cons

Stability of firm, management commitment to firm direction, seems to change for change sake not productive reasons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change is not always good. Stay out of the papers.

    Pros

Good people with a comfortable work environment

    Cons

Management is poor, lacking vision and the ability to work with you. Not long before they will be sold off to another financial institution and changes will unfold. Lower salary compared to other firms.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be upfront and open minded.

I worked at UBS full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The brand on a global basis is quite strong. Very large Investment bank with a lot of capabilities. The bank is also Swiss which is appealing to a lot of wealthy amricans in the private wealth management space.

    Cons

Their management is not very good primarily due to the fact that they stil are unable to identify how they are going to grow the business and in which direction they want to take the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually take charge and be creative. Rather than be just a puppet for New York/Switzerland, show some initiative and bring some fresh ideas to the table on how to better run the business. It should make a difference.

    Pros

    Benefits
    Culture in my business unit
    Vacation Time
    Work Travel

    Cons

    Corporate overhead
    Salary is not competitive
Performance is not in line with bonuses to specific business units
Personal performance is not in line with compensation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be competitive on salary across all business units. No reward for promotions. CPI increase in salary even with a promotion.
