    Pros

Adequate Pay, Good Tuition Fee Remission, Not too demanding in terms of deadlines

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Very helpful for any Graduate Students who speak English. If you have previous work in tutoring, that would be useful too. Work can difficult when it comes to achieving high marks for the end-of-term student evaluation.

    Pros

Great atmosphere. Great perks. Great Residents.

Highly critical leadership staff. Most of the time they forget that you are a student too. I wanted to do all the work they asked me to do, but most of the time I need more flexibility in when I did it.

    Former Contractor - Adjunct Humantiies

I worked at UC Davis as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Has the standard good benefits and health insurance of a UC. Teaching load is reasonable. Courses are of reasonable size. Access to UC Libraries

    Cons

Benefits mean little to adjuncts, who will have to either withdraw or rollover very tiny retirement allotments when their contracts end. Little direct department support. Little to no mentorship of adjuncts, and no clear path from adjunct to full-time hire.

    Advice to Management

Integrate adjunct labor into departments more intentionally. Make sure adjuncts are have sufficient new hire orientation to navigate systems effectively. Make sure adjuncts understand departmental goals and can participate in departmental events and/or meetings.
