    Pros

Flexibility working with your student schedule. Student workers and career staff members working together make for a good work environment.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Benefits or better reward/acknowledgement program for great student workers should be implemented.

    Pros

    Friendly and energetic work environment,
    good benefits for all workers,
    laid back work culture,
    knowledgeable coworkers,
amazing learning opportunities for everyone interested,
    Fantastic environment for research.

    Cons

Salary for postdocs are low compared to administrators and faculty.
Davis town very small and overpriced for the facilities it offers.
Have to travel to Sacramento or San Francisco to get big city experience.

    Advice to Management

I think the management should do more to keep research talent on campus specially when companies offer so much more benefits and pay. With the bay area so close by it might be hard to retain research talent.

    Pros

    Stable Working Hours
    Decent Benefits Package
    Discounted Educational Opportunities

    Cons

Ineffectual leadership, bureaucratic processes, not mission focused or client driven, lack of transparency, incompetent staff and unprofessional staff are not help accountable, low standards equate to inferior products for clients, outdated systems stifle work flow, processes are not systematically managed, HR is completely ineffective, cannot retain talented staff, Infighting among leadership creates an unhealthy work environment for staff, Deans office is disconnected from client needs and end products being delivered, Suspicious financial practices with use of federal funds, merit is not rewarded, HR policies stifle wage increases, wages are far lower than campus equivalent positions, very unhealthy work culture

    Advice to Management

Need a greater emphasis on employee development. Create opportunities for all staff across each program area. Understand the needs of all of your constituents. Clean up Operations. Fiscal needs policies in writing more clearly communicated, HR needs to operate more consistently with California State Mandates, etc. Communicate!!!!! Operate with transparency and ethics. Reward your employees for quality work and make them a part of the larger decision making process (outreach).

    Pros

Worked in their accounting and financial services department. Great working environment and everyone was friendly. I worked only part-time depending on my class schedule, and they were flexible enough to understand.

    Cons

No cons really. I stayed with them for less than a year to concentrate on studying. No complaints during my employement.

  9. Good Experience

    Pros

Working with the graduate studies department was a good experience. I improved my web development skills with the help of my supervisor. They are very attentive.

    Cons

The work that I was put to do was pretty extensive and I feel that the amount of pay did not reflect the kind of work I did.

  10. Great benefits, a pleasant environment, and room to grow

    Pros

Though the University employs thousands of people, you don't feel lost in the masses. My supervisor has not only let me know that there are other opportunities but in the short time I've been here, others have shown me how to go after those opportunities. Newsletters for departments and staff as a whole keep you informed. Beautiful campus and atmosphere are a nice bonus.

    Cons

Employees pay for parking, but this can be added taken out of our paycheck pre-tax so not a biggie.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

    Pros

Great learning experience. Excellent opportunities to network and bond with both residents and other RAs. You will quickly learn time management skills and become good at communicating with a broad range of people.

    Cons

It is a 24-hour job. There can be a lot of stress when you work where you live because you do not have a break from your position.

    Advice to Management

Try and communicate better with the employees. There was a lot of last minute information and expectations that were brought out.
