    Pros

It is rewarding to be a part of the process that takes incoming students, provides them with knowledge and learning experiences, and then sends them out into the world to lead the next generation.

    Cons

As with any government job, this is a large bureaucracy and the salaries are limited when compared to private companies.

    Advice to Management

Be careful not to be a part of the pitfalls associated with large, bureaucratic organization and find non-cash ways to reward employees.

I have been working at UC Irvine part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A great community of other teachers. Students who are obedient and generally engaged with the learning process. Relative flexibility to teach texts you're interested in.

    Cons

As is increasingly common in higher education, getting work as an adjunct be unreliable, subject to review, and sometimes requires lots of work with little security and few or expensive benefits.

    Pros

The campus location is safe and convenient with access to surrounding cultural hubs Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Costa Mesa.

    Cons

The salary is typical for a graduate student at a public university which is very poor, but private universities sometimes pay better.

    Pros

I love the campus and its nearby cities like Newport beach. Great weather all year round. Nice faculty to work with. Nice graduate housing.

    Cons

The pay is low to cover all the costs

    Advice to Management

I believe they could pay more to the PhD students. Also, some departments pay more than the others to the students which is not fair.
