Great benefits but too many changes

Principal Scientist (Former Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England (UK)

    ProsGreat benefits and work/life balance

ConsConstant change of direction. Waste resources performing analyses of what is wrong just to do nothing afterwards. Does not walk the talk. Promotions are not based on performance but on set numbers per department

Advice to Senior ManagementAddress the issues found during the numerous analyses of the business, rather than do nothing and embark on another analysis that mobilises all the resources 1 or 2 years after the last one

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

This is a great company to work for!

Research Scientist (Former Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England (UK)

ProsMy work was highly appreciated and I was promoted within my first two years. I also was fortunate to have a manager who recognised my ability to show initiative and work unsupervised.

ConsHmmm... I had a good experience and so have got nothing bad to say. The reason I left was for further studies.

Med Advisor (Former Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England (UK)

    ProsEthical company focused on patients
Friendly, small enough to get alot of experience, large enough to be supported within role
    High quality colleagues

    ConsCan be 'pennywise pound foolish'
    Staff turnover can be high
    Formal training could be better

Advice to Senior ManagementGenerally good senior management

Not a lot of direction; you need to be very self motivated.

Manager (Former Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England (UK)

ProsSome nice people, reasonable salary. It is a very relaxed working environment.

ConsMangement lack direction, and communication outside of Braine is not very good. You get demotivated the longer you stay their.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your staff, give them direction and clear feedback on what they are doing.

    Anymore bad news?

Project Manager (Current Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England (UK)

ProsIt used to be the people, but slowly they are leaving and now this is just another corporate looking after it's shareholders.

ConsThe company is too Belgian centric. It needs to embrace it's multi national employees.
    There is no accountability.
Mergers and acquistions have not been successful.

Advice to Senior ManagementLeave Belgium! Ok, don't be so drastic, but acknowledge there are other more innovative countries and people. Do a deep clean of the "lifers" who stay around to pick up their pensions. Bring in some new people and ideas and freshen things up.
What is the return on investment on the research work done?

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
