Pros
Reasonable bosses and bosses who teach.
Cons
Balance between work and play was blurred.
Pros
Opportunity to have significant impact on the organization.
Cons
Resistance to change, loyaltly to people over principles.
Advice to Senior Management
Develop a cohesive message, and communicate to the employees. Begin to create a team environment.
Pros
In today's economy working for UCB Bank is better than being unemployed
Cons
UCB Bank is the most disorganized and dishonest bank, I 've worked for in 10 years.
The will say anything to lure you in by promising you raises and better position, but they have no intentions on performing. They prey on chinese americans as workers intimidating them that if they are fired, they will not be able to work at others chinese banks.
Advice to Senior Management
What senior management asks to do is simply illegal, do not ask employees to brake the law, when the regulators come in be honest, we do not want to go to jail.
Pros
People are friendly and the manager gives many opportunities for its workers to enroll in classes so they can gain more knowledge. It's not a huge company, so you get to know a lot of people quickly. There is no major problem communicating with other departments, they all seem very responsive regarding to any issues.
Cons
There's a lot of workload with many overtime. The pay is not as competitive as other banks.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more resources to the employees related to career advancement opportunities, and more beneifts
Pros
Interesting challenging work in a multi-cultural environment.
Cons
Long hours and constrained resources
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Management supports its employees through the good times and the bad. Pay is decent. I have developed a very close-knit group of co-workers.
Cons
Incompetent and inept managers who don't know talent when they see it. The louder you are, the more quickly you move up. Unfortunately, the loudest are also the least brilliant, all bark no brains. The industry has also become very unprofitable, why not get rid of some folks? I hate my job and that impacts my whole life. They lure you in with promises of opportunities that never appear. Morale is very low, some of the best folks on my team have been so beaten down they have stopped caring.
Advice to Senior Management
It's the digital age, stop using paper...and you wonder why things don't ever get done quickly!
