    Pros

    Flexibility, opportunity to grow for a select few

    Cons

    Overloaded upper management where in which layers of Vice Presidents report to each other. Siloed Business Units create difficult political issues and complications when dealing with customers that view the company as a single unit, but each business unit acts alone.

    Pros

    Having a boss that actually cares about his team is a great change. Lot of great people to work with. Great Benefits, healthcare etc. Departments are sometimes independent, but HR throws bi-weekly events and holiday things. Gym included in office as well. Good company that takes care of employees. Also a huge plus, is the ability to be independent and not be micro managed. If you know how to balance your time and can work like an adult, you'll fit in fine.

    Cons

    It's tough to think of one, every job has its days but having a good team can make the difference.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work, treating your employees right will only make us put forth more effort into our work.

    Pros

    Good people, good name in the business, but losing credibility. Vacation and compensation is good for certain people, but not all.

    Cons

    There is a serious disconnect between management and the customer base. It is sad to see what they have done to Champ/Luberfiner. The upper management positions went to Fram people and politics and power is in place. Great product lines are suffering due to lack of leadership and management. Only hope is if Rank sells to someone who understands the business.

    Advice to Management

    Need to have a separate Heavy Duty sales force. It is a different animal from automotive. Luberfiner sales will continue to suffer until this is done.

    Pros

    Great co-workers
    Good work life balance
    Tries to keep company morale up by having tailgate events, holiday parties - despite challenges
    Has a free gym for employees to use
    Good insurance (benefits)

    Cons

    Bonus is a joke
    There are some management who aren't sure what exactly they want or do

    Advice to Management

    Work on employee's performance growth and increase incentives (bonus) for employees who deserve it.

    Good people, and good benefits.

    Cons

    No advancement plan, do not count on your bonus, and business direction is scattered at best.

    Pros

    The health insurance is great.

    Cons

    UCI-FRAM group has no direction or mission. It seldom communicates with its employees. The business units don't interact, there's no collaboration. Employees stick to their work spaces because there is no culture. There is also no room for advancement -- or an org chart! The company simply exists instead of planning for the future. Leadership is not open to new ideas. Supervisors don't care about the issues you face.

    Advice to Management

    Throw out your egos. Listen to your employees. Talk to your employees. Consider entering the 21st century. Build culture. Put a business plan together and share it with employees. Develop a mission and values and share it with employees.

    Pros

    Was a great place to work under previous ownership. Hard to even think of anything good to say now. Great co workers at lower levels.

    Cons

    Leadership withholds information, frequently makes very poor "shoot from the hip" decisions, is clueless about who their customers are and what they want. Self serving all about me leadership.

    Advice to Management

    Quit and get someone in there who has a clue what they are doing. The entire culture is extremely toxic and nothing more than a old boys network of people who have no experience in auto parts.

    Pros

    The Honeywell Consumer products group was sold to a private company named Rank Group. New values, more straight forward leadership, and fast decision making

    Cons

    There is no carrer plan for any employees, poor evaluation to employees. There has no been merit increase for many years

    Advice to Management

    Need to focus on people, evaluate them fair and need to sell the company better to the employees. These are very known brands and the people is not feeling proud of them

    Pros

    Employees on the lower levels are all very friendly and want to help

    Cons

    Upper management can't see what they're doing, auditors are just plain on staff....how much money is that costing to keep them on salary year round ?

    Advice to Management

    Please talk to your employees for a clear picture of whats going on....marketing doesn't talk to the other departments....

    Pros

    Close to the highway, good cafeteria, covered parking.

    Cons

    pay is entry level grade. Not a forward thinking business model. Most of management is not from Chicago but rather commute (via plane) from areas outside of the state. Pay raises are laughable and inconsistent. No culture, the office and management structure leads to an every man for himself mentality.

    Advice to Management

    Re-organize company and place a management team in Chicago ready to lead a charge into the future with great brands and an intelligent driven workforce.
