    Pros

Flex time, some of my coworkers were great then I transferred to a different department and it was like being in high school again with all the cliques that go with it including the teacher and her pets.

    Cons

Flex time varied department to department, management wasn't there when you had questions

    Advice to Management

Take more time investing in your employees because happy employees work harder and are loyal.

    Pros

Learned a lot about communications. Worked with very nice people. Employees were open to questions, and hands-on with their training.

    Cons

Very low pay. Monotonous environment. Pretty much worked as an errand person (fetching and delivering newsletters, re-stocking stock room etc).

    Pros

UF Health Shands Hospital is a part of the UF Heath system, there is great opportunities for a variety of jobs starting at working in Environment Services to working at the top as a Medical Doctor. Just depends on how ambitious you are!!!

    Cons

All jobs have protocols, and if you want to continue working in a industry a employer has to follow the rules. Time-off polices are great, after 6 months on the job you can take time off, after 5 years you invested in retirement benefits, now we have Lincoln (401 K) , you have to put your funds in and Shands will match them. Retirement after 30 years, or retire at 62, which ever comes first.

    Advice to Management

I have been a Shands for 31 years, please bring the Bonus Checks for long term workers, the Shands Picnic, and turkey give aways at Thanksgiving.

  6. Great company!

    Pros

High quality hospital, great benefits, flexible hours, many outstanding and caring staff

    Cons

Sometimes the support staff in general just seem lazy. Often it's like I'm offending people by simply asking for help or to just do their job. Teamwork is a surprising treat when it happens. Of course this will all vary from one unit to another.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to fire lazy workers and compensate/advance good ones. More training programs for strong employees.

  7. Helpful (1)

Great till they decided they didn't want the group I worked with.

    Pros

Great training and education for employees.

    Cons

There really are not any negatives. The only suggestions I could make are, it would be great if they could remodel many spaces in our facilities.
