    Pros

The opportunities to showcase your talents

    Cons

I feel that the yearly compensation for the production team members should increase. Most team members do a great job working hard and follow company requirements. It is not fair for that team member to get penalized for other team members that are not performing well. The point system for wage increase needs major improvements.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice is to interact and support the leaders at all times. There may be some leaders that are going above and beyond, but are being over looked. These leaders are loyal, be loyal to them as well. However, keep up the great job that you have been doing and continue to grow. May you have good fortune...

    Pros

Valparaiso Management Team is great and led by a wonderful plant manager

    Cons

Corporate interference in the plant operations comes out of the blue with no reason causing difficulties in continuing positive operations. Very gender biased towards males which leads to unfair treatment of females as well as increased turnover in senior management positions. CEO is extremely controlling in nature and does not allow senior management to display core values in treatment of each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to allow the plants to operate without interference as long as all is well.

    Pros

There are good people out on the floor to work with. The hard-working, senior team members are the main reason for this company's success. The customer base for the company's products are solid. Benefits are competitive.

    Cons

Non-competitive pay, unfair practices, an inconsistent and unappreciative lower management, a distant and un-involved human resources department, an upper management that spends more time performing "damage control" than actually managing issues tends to make this an unsavory place to work. This facility is highly chaotic and unorganized from the very top going down. The political and cultural atmospheres trend toward "back-stabbing" and "one-up-manship" instead of reward for hard work. Not conducive to promoting from within at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As managers, it is not your job to have all the answers, but rather to know where to find them when needed. You cannot possibly have a more in-depth and intrinsic knowledge of a job or manufacturing process than a person who does it all day, every day. That is not logical and you are doing yourselves and your company a disservice if you think you do. A company's success hinges on its ability to function as a team. There are no dictators, kings, or queens on a team. Everyone is equally important and vital.
