    Pros

some good people to work with.

    Cons

Management is "old school". Clock watchers. Walk around office to see if everyone is "on time". Treat professional staff like children. Have had a lot of turnover. Benefits are very expensive. Partners care about themselves. Having a hard time hiring people. No interest in staff as people. Partners let you know on a regular basis you are expendable. Long work hours, even in the "off season". Lack of integrity at partner level. No diversity...no women partners. Very few minorities.

    Advice to Management

time to bring younger people to lead. CEO and EC need to retire so younger, fresher people can lead.

    Pros

Great Bosses, everyone is very friendly and helpful. great bran spanking new building with gym, near the heart of Columbia MD.

    Cons

low pay, long hours for admin, and not a lot of work to do in-between tax season.

    Advice to Management

I mean, i know it is an accounting firm, but if it got any livelier in there a funeral would break out, there were days i would come it say hello to the office manager, and then goodnight to her and that was it...

I worked at UHY LLP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great compensation and time and a half for busy season hours

    Cons

No management structure. They make you "actively search for work". Nothing is assigned and if your in the audit department you do tax work.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like humans and not worry about their billable hours. Help them find work and be more transparent about what kind of work you will be doing.

    Pros

The firm pays overtime bonuses which is unusual for the industry.

    Cons

Very stiff environment. Big disconnect between management and staff. Difficult to advance.

    Advice to Management

Talk with employees about their career paths. As an experience staff or senior staff, begin to look at developing that individual to grow into leadership roles.
