Good job to have between classes at school

Production Staff (Former Employee)
Chicago, IL

I worked at UIC Pavilion part-time for more than a year

ProsGreat coworkers, very flexible schedule. Good job to have to gain work experience. Able to work different types of events, you get paid to see concerts, basketball games, and other events at the venue.

Conslong work hours, having to work overnight the day before classes, people do not always show up for their shift.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

This is a great job to have while still in school

ProsEasy job that allows you to pick your own hours. It's a great way to work cool events like concerts. Great, easy going atmosphere.

ConsIt's just a school job, which means once you graduate you can no longer work there. There's only certain events in the month, which means you don't get paid a lot.

Prosa good place for study and a good place for living since the short distance from downtown. the research resource center makes it possible for you to carry out some "expensive" experiments

Consliving cost around it is high that is the only cons you may want to concern comparing to the college cities.

Pros-People are fun to work with
-The hours you work re flexible around your lifestyle
-Working nights was not bad
-Close to the UIC campus
-People do not know how long your breaks are...you can do whatever you want most the time

Cons-People you work with are not very smart
-Sometimes felt like I could do a better job than upper management
-Nowhere fo really move up in the business
-Did not feel fully utilized at work

Advice to Senior Management-Show respect to the employees who actually do the hard work. Most the time you do not even know what you are doing in the first place.
