ConsLate hours with super low pay. Complicated timesheets system. Desk set up to have all computers in a row meaning no privacy and you hear everyone's conversations

Universal McCann J3 entry level position

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsJ3 offers amazing training programs and if you want to start a carrer in media then its a great starting point

ConsThe pay is really low even for an entry level position and it takes about a year and a half to get promoted.

Not the integrated 360 they preach

    Investment Associate (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsFood. Huge agency. Decent learning curve. Lots of events, rubbing shoulder with important people, both networks and the client.

ConsRecent grads are pigeon holed into 1 department, not easy to switch out in under a year, at which point you would get promoted, but instead if you choose a different account, no pay raise. LONG HOURS, horrible pay, and not an integrated media learning experience at all.

Advice to Senior ManagementThese training courses you force the experienced talent to go to should be for entry level employees. Sometimes it seems as if you don't care about our growth or success, which is dumb, because we would obviously prefer to grow within the company instead of agency hopping. Assistants should be offered overtime like at other agencies, we are paid too little to stay late hours.

2 years is too much time to work here.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

Prostypical media agency. great place to start, learn, get experience

ConsBurn out happens quickly and no one really cares. a lot of bad managers who can't manage their team well.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a clue for upper management who don't add any value and maybe replace them with more assistants/planners who actually do the day to day. How many group directors/amds do you need bsing to the the clients with no one on the ground doing the dirty work. everyone would be much happier with more assistants and planners, and the ones you currently have wouldn't get so burn out.
ps when there are bad/worthless amds in place. let them go! if not the rest of their team suffers and eventually leave. and those are the good ones.
