I worked at UMKC part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pays better than most work-study departments on campus.
Dean's office staff is friendly and open to questions and discussions.
Easy to request time off for class-related issues.

    Cons

Someone doesn't understand how to turn the coffee pot off after it's empty - routinely cleaned burned coffee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It has become more difficult to get work-study on campus even if you had it the prior year. The work-study allocations seem to be an arbitrary system with little transparency.
