    Pros

This position flexible in both schedule and time management. It has helped me make connections with key people at UMKC. If you are self-motivated, this position may fit nicely into your lifestyle.

    Cons

There are scare opportunities for advancement. The work environment is very redundant. The compensation is pathetic. Certain supervisors seem to have little imagination or drive to be successful.

    Advice to Management

Schedule more employees to work together at any given time. This will help promote job satisfaction and a positive culture.

    Pros

Latitude to choose course content and material.

    Cons

It is an angry, politically charged workplace. You must watch your back at every turn because every imaginable obstruction will present itself. There is no management. The students rate the professors and turnover is incredible.

    Advice to Management

Manage. You have heard the old adage, "the prisoners are controlling the prison?" Well, this is the case here.

    Pros

Flexible hours, friendly employees, and a professional work atmosphere that lead me to have a good experience. I have no real complaints.

    Cons

The position was minimum wage which is no one's ideal pay, but it was an overall fun job to work at. It was fast paced and kept you moving.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice to the management. I think they run a good organization. I would say just to try to push to purchase new equipment for the gym

    Cons

Low paying salaries, even with increased job duties and less staff. Slow to make or implement changes and tenured co-workers with negative attitudes.

    Pros

Plenty of time off, flexible work schedule, discount tuition for UMKC, centered near great restaurants and shopping, positive impact on the Kansas City community

    Cons

There is presently a soft freeze, so not every position is guaranteed to be replaced, we have also recently had some bad publicity regarding the Bloch School

    Pros

You do get a decent amount of vacation and sick time along with personal days. If you want to earn a degree you can received reduced tuition rates.

    Cons

The pay starts low and stays that way. Raises are only given every other year and then they are only 2%. The only way to make a higher salary is to find a better paying position within the University but it's nearly impossible to move up. Parking is very expensive for employes and you often have to fight for a spot with the students. $42 is the cheapest rate and it goes up depending on your salary. You do not feel appreciated as an employee. Management is ineffective and they withhold information from you. If we are not getting a raise, just say so. We are on a soft freeze, just tell us. It's worse finding out from other sources.

    Advice to Management

Money speaks volumes. We really need a decent raise. 2% is not enough. Make it easier for employes to move up. Pay for our parking or make it affordable. Listen to employees.
