I worked at UMass Lowell part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Develop relationships with professors, who can help with job prospects down the road.

I have been working at UMass Lowell as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Culture is at times fairly relaxed, there is lots of comradery between different offices that an individual is in contact with, and new leadership (at least in my department) made it clear that there was going to be advancement in technologies

    Cons

Sometimes it feels as though various departments are intentionally not getting anything done or is blatantly belligerent, upper management at times asks for results in unreasonable conditions
