I worked at UNC Charlotte part-time

    Pros

I did secretary work on campus and loved the part-time position. My colleagues were wonderful and supportive, and it was easy to take time off around my school schedule.

    Cons

The only con I can think of (Glassdoor makes you write a minimum of 20 words here) is that things get slow sometimes, so you'll have to be comfortable reading a book or doing other work, particularly during school breaks.

I have been working at UNC Charlotte full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Job security, takes alot toget fired. HR lets you know its a job not a career.

    Cons

Did not receive a raise for 5yrs. Then only received $1k. The whole University gets a raise at the same time. It's really hard for your manager to get you a raise seperate from everyone else. Systems antiquated, you'll more than likely have 7+ systems to do your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because a faculty member is a good "teacher" does not mean he's qualified to be a manager. Training should be mandatory.
