    Pros

Colleagues are very helpful. The product is excellent a lot of fun to work with. Customers are great too.

    Cons

Internal training isn't great and you might be send to an job where you aren't qualified for. There is no development, you get hired for a position - but there aren't any ways to move on. A lot of turnover of people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think bigger, act bigger - you aren't anymore the small, cosy company you have been.

    Pros

The people you work with are great, amongst the workers there is a sense of togetherness and willingness to help each other. Very flexible with time. Pay, benefits and vacation/STAT are very good. It is an amazing product and everyone is committed to seeing it become more.

    Cons

The Management team really has a hard time making good sound business decisions in North America, it more of these over arching policies that are not backed by analysis or sound judgement.
It's sink or swim, but no different than any other solution provider out there. If your not local to Victoria Canada, then don't ever expect to be promoted into Management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on employees and allow the employees to focus on the customers and products. If you really want to grow the company to greater than 20 Million, learn how to make effective business decisions and allow people to execute those decisions and don't try to manage everything out of 1 office location

Current Employee - Online Marketing Specialist in Sliedrecht (Netherlands)

    Pros

There is a lot of room for creativity, great company with tons of opportunities to grow. I would recommend this company for every young professional with about 5-10 years of experience, who would like to use his/her experience to setup or support company changing projects. There is a lot of freedom, so you can literally transform the company and help it live up to its potential.

    Cons

Biggest challenge is the current phase UNIT4 is in right now. There is still a lot of foot-soldier work to be done, before strategic changes can be implemented that will help with a boost in leads / sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think there is room to invest in additional young people, the majority has a great motivation when stimulated by management and compared to new senior employees the cost is relatively low.

Former Employee - Implementation Consultant in Dublin, Dublin (Ireland)

    Pros

It's a good place to get initial experience out of college, a lot of variety and opportunities to develop your skill set.

    Cons

As with most consultancy positions you can often find yourself "a page ahead" of the client.
Difficult to get support for professional development (exam fees etc.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The heavy investment in marketing over the past few years is possibly at the expense of staff development. There's no point in being seen to be innovative if staff aren't getting

Forget promotion unless you worked for SAP...

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Some great products, some good employees, huge potential in the marketplace to act ethically and deliver good solutions differently to the competition.

    Cons

New owners and directors have come in from SAP, and employed a complete management team all ex-SAP or with SAP experience. The message to dedicated staff who've built the company up - you're all crap so we're going to appoint from outside, and turn UNIT4 into SAP.

Bad news for staff, terrible news for customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff with respect, communicate better, develop a strategy and approach that's unique and not just 'do what SAP did'.

A lot of nice people are working there. Many good colleges. The culture used to be great.

    Cons

    You are left all alone.
    Lack of professional management.
The head of the department is "missing".
Hopeless or no support at all from your leader.
    Salary below average. No justice.

Change some of the leaders. It's over due.
