I worked at UPS part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefit, education assistance, full medical benefit, physical health like going to gym, etc.

    Cons

Working with some workers do not care about other's maturity, with no control of their languages, no respects, other concerns etc. Some people feel like they own the company, when they are just employee like yourself, just because the are supervisors. To survive, you just have to keep to yourself, focus on your work and forgive everything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management has constantly make sure the company's policies and rules are respected by everybody. I is very good to have theat 1800 number to report incident on professional at work, but the respect of the company's rules must be observed on a daily basic. There are some employees who really treat others very bad at work and get away with it.
I work for this company from 01/16/06-03/24/14 in Doraville, Georgia. When I resigned, they documented as fired until the Georgia Department of Labor warned them to document as resign. They refused to transfer me to PA when I requested. Hence, I was left with no choice, but to resign.

I have been working at UPS part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The hours are great for if you are a student.

    Cons

No bus goes to the facility so if you don't have a car then you can't get to work unless you bum rides which isn't always successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Well I haven't started as a package handler yet but when I was a driver helper I rarely saw management.

    Pros

The people are wonderful to work with and strive to have a positive team environment. A great group of employees.

    Cons

I have been working at UPS part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement within the first week. Has a union. Hires a ton of ex-convicts.

    Cons

It's a culture designed to create a constant fear of being fired-at-will daily until you are eligible to join the union. Management deliberates disrespects new employees to test their commitment. Coworkers diminish each other's work in hopes to make themselves look better because of the fear of being fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Positive reinforcement should be taught and encourage teamwork for the desired results.

Former Employee - NOC Technician in Alpharetta, GA

I worked at UPS full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Valid technical experience, true global company, good support tools

    Cons

Poor work life balance, ad hoc training, preference for scolding employee errors due to lack of training, rather than providing correct training. Poor pay for a Fortune 50 company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Normalize shifts to 5 8's instead of 4 10's, stop rotating day/night every 3 months. Incorporate formal training in a non production setting.

    Pros

The best part about working at UPS is that you can do anything and everything here both domestically and internationally. Find the right sponsors and you can make career development moves easily.

    Cons

Everything is outdated from the computers to the dress code. Horrible retention rate for millennials.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We need days of telecommuting if you want to retain millennials.
