I have been working at UPS

    Pros

Stable company, solid benefits, stability. If you set boundaries from the beginning you can have somewhat work life balance.

    Cons

Lack of advancement opportunities, they are far and few in between. Promotions based on who is making decision, not merit alone. Aging staff, many eligible for retirement but do not leave Which doesn't allow for movement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your younger employees. We have fresh ideas and have different needs then the older employees. We yearn for more rotations, promotions that are attainable, work life balance and growth opportunities. Also, reevaluate your compensation, our sales jobs are not paid like other sales jobs in similar industries.

I worked at UPS part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

This job has a decent pay rate with the opportunity to be the supervisor when doing your routes with the exception of dispatch calling you to do pick ups.

    Cons

jumping in and out of trucks to freqently wich include anywhere between 100 to150 stops.this job burns you out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop having employees showig up for work and not having a assignment because the volume of work is not available.should notify employee of this in advance. Company should compensate employees for milage when we show up for work to do their job.

I have been working at UPS full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The health benefits and the salary structure are are two huge pros. Additionally the job stability of this large employer is another pro.

    Cons

Lack of accountability amongst management teams. Experience of multiple half truths and broken promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees on the front line and doing the work more than the suits in an office across the country. Problems and issues that affect a large metropolitan area probably do not also affect a rural community in the same ways.

    Pros

Frequent transfers, many opportunities for promotion

    Cons

With frequent transfers no one is an expert. You have not support. Work-Life balance is more of a work - work balance especially the last three months of the year.

    Spend time training your employees
