    Pros

This is a easy going job that focuses on common sense situations and there are some great people here. They always try to do things to help boost team moral and there is always a challenge.

    Cons

Its can be exhausting with gossip

  2. A great company has gone down-hill due to it's need for profit.

    Pros

UPS had the greatest technical people EVER. My co-workers were great, my supervisors were great and I loved my UPS customers.

    Cons

When the economy tanked in 2009 and UPS got a new CEO everything good about the company went out the window. It was more important to try and make a profit by cutting corners and doing shady things than to take care of the employees who took care of the customers , The company has gone down-hill badly since.

    Advice to Management

Good luck with trying to salvage a bad situation.

    Pros

Great benefits, Guaranteed raises every year, co-workers are what make the job, and you'll most likely get along with all of them you talk to. Management will let you come in late if you have another job. No drug testing.. not even if you're driving.

    Cons

PLEASE LISTEN CAREFULLY!! If you are hired here, and wish to advance, you can't if you work hard. It's all about seniority and bidding jobs based on seniority to advance. My first couple years loading at UPS I broke records, I was the one every supervisor wanted. I always thought my hard work would pay off.. IT DOESN'T!! Don't kill yourself.
Management will abuse you if they find out you can work hard. You will have extremely lazy co-workers around you, who do half your work in twice the time, and they get treated better than you.

    Advice to Management

Treat your good workers better. You guys abuse your employees. EVERY ONE OF YOU!! I've worked here almost 7 years, and have seen it all.

    Pros

I'm very excited to have a part time job with better benefits than any full time job I have ever had.

    Cons

waking up early and being to work before 3 am is something to get used to. Balancing an on call job on top of UPS will be interesting.

    Pros

They have great benefits. If you have intentions on starting at a first level of support and get a lot of lateral "promotions" that cause additional work for no extra pay this is the place for you.

    Cons

Not all but most of the management is corrupted. I have personally been to bars with supervisors and managers as a first level agent. Additionally they where sleeping with there subordinates. I watched the women that would sleep with them get promotions over other people when they did not have the knowledge or deserve it.

    Advice to Management

I have two words for the management. CLEAN HOUSE. Some of the supervisors you think are your top performers are sleeping with first level agents that are now coaches... *Cough *Cough Bravo *Cough.

    Pros

Good benefits, learn many skills needed as a manager, many opportunities for advancement, pay is good once you go higher than a part-time supervisor.

    Cons

Pay is OK as a part-time supervisor. Management style is kind of archaic. Motivation from fear is a big thing (at least in the hub where I worked.) Could be from the GM at my location mostly, but I have heard the same for other Hubs.

    Advice to Management

Try motivating with rewards, it works better and creates a better environment.

    Pros

Great benefits, great company, plenty of ways to move up and advance your career. The employees really care about the success of the company as well.

    Cons

There are no cons that I could think of. I am very happy to work for UPS.

    Pros

Compensation was fair. Benefits were acceptable. As far as co-workers, there were a few good eggs.

    Cons

Politics, politics, politics. Everyone has their own vision, and will cut your throat in a heartbeat to get where they want to go. This is the first place I've ever worked where you had to receive explicit permission from your current manager to change positions, lateral or otherwise.

    Advice to Management

Refine your hiring process. Something is seriously wrong if someone feels free to go into the bathroom, and cover the walls in their own feces, or assault another co-worker.

  11. They treat their package handlers and drivers great but their administrative like trash.

    Pros

Stability, consistant and paid time off.

    Cons

Pay is no longer top. They do not know how to manage people. And their dress code is so 1900ish.

    Advice to Management

Review what the market is doing today and maybe run with a few changes.
