Pros
Enjoyed working by myself. The freedom to do my route they way I wanted. Had a good loader. Made my day easier
Cons
Pushed very hard by management. Good finish times were not good enough. Truck to be organized better. Keep drivers in familiar routes. Need to have better more accurate communication between management.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay loaders more so they do their job better. More organized truck means quicker deliveries and less stress for drivers and overall better work experience.
Pros
Part time job that is not waitressing or retail, no education or experience required, just physical strength
Cons
Very dirty workplace - I got eye infections all the time and even ear infections even though I tried to be careful about taking care of myself. They just never clean out that building at all and all the package dust is unbearable.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop encouraging your young assistant managers that they are Roman slavedrivers
Pros
hours are at night so u have the rest of the day but not very consistent. if u make it past the first 2 months they bump ur pay by a dollar
Cons
they treat you like a child, they are very disorganized, management does not know their jobs, people are not held accountable for their work(lack of work)
Advice to Senior Management
learn leadership traits, learn how to speak to people with out degrading them, show more appreciation for those employees that actually do their job.
Pros
Not micro- managed as much as other warehouse jobs....
Cons
heavy loads, long mid day shifts... no flexibility...
Pros
Benefits and pension, and good pay
Cons
No recognition, missing checks, bad acknowledgement
Advice to Senior Management
Hire better hr and managers
Pros
Professionalism, opportunity to advance, they promote from within,
Cons
When you first start out you are not making a decent salary.
Pros
Pay and benefits are pretty good. You can clock out at a reasonable time if you work fast and hard. Great company to work with.
Cons
Job can get tedious due to the constant lifting of packages. Sore arms and be prepared to be exhausted at the end of the day. Supervisors do put some pressure on you at times to get packages delivered. They are also sometimes rude.
Advice to Senior Management
Not much, the job is what it is, but it would be great if the supervisors weren't too demanding and allowed workers to work at a comfortable pace without constantly over-exerting themselves.
Pros
Good Pay $8.50/Hr Flexible Schedule Mon-Fri
Cons
Been Hired For 5-6 Weeks And Only Received 1Day 3Hrs/45Mins Worth Of Work.
Extremely PATHETIC.
Advice to Senior Management
Assign A Driver To Drivers Helper Beyond Hire Instead Of Making Employees Jump Through Hoops Every Morning.
Pros
Great people - very friendly and hard working
good company reputation
ba training opportunities
job security for BA
bonus given out
Cons
no ability to telecommute for any reason
old school culture
no flex time - you have to pick a specific time and stick to it every single day or you are late
salary is not great
don't care about employees happiness at work
Advice to Senior Management
I think that it would be good for the management to realize the people have both work and family reposonsibilities which require some flexibiltiy with your work. I found that people are UPS really cared about doing a good job, but most were generally unhappy because their personal life was suffering. Stop treating employees like children. They will be happier and work harder for you if you give them respect.
Pros
Job security, benefits and pension plan package, 401K retirement plan match, employee discount programs.
Cons
There is a lack of utilization of people's skills, there is no promotion by merit.
Advice to Senior Management
Look closer to your employees' strength and better utilize them.
