They get a 2 star because they do have great benefits. Fix employee surveys.

Part Time Package Center Supervisor (Former Employee)
    Ontario, CA

ProsBenefits, time off, pay is ok

ConsPay's good BUT they only let you work PART TIME and no advancement. They like the pretty girls. HR is non-responsive. If you lie you succeed, be honest and you don't go anywhere.

Advice to Senior ManagementWake up***if you want quality people you have to give them full time hours. Spent 7 years of my life there for what. I get a pension of $35.00 per month "REALLY"

    The people are interesting there.

    Administrative Assistant (Former Employee)
    Ontario, CA

ProsThe company has room for growth if there are years invested, but they are competitive with the pay even though it is usually part time when you start.

ConsThe people there have no enthusiasm to go to work, they feel the need to suck the life out of you when you are doing well for your life.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should definitely step up in employee engagement, the employees are definitely tough around the edges when they work there.

although full time is nearly impossible you have job security, good benefits, and good amount of vacation

Part Time Package Handler (Former Employee)
    Ontario, CA

Prosgood amount of vacation, raise in pay every six months or so. benefits are great and the job itself is easy. As long as you keep it good with management you will be fine. easy money. working for a good company like UPS for long opening doors at the beginning because of being able to work for a well known company. I would gladly go back to UPS if i could.

Consthey dont really offer full time. technically have to put your time in. but 10-15 years of part time just wasnt for me. I hated that when i first started time I went in was from 12noon to 4pm. every few months it would just be later and later. now an old friend still working there says there start time is at 330pm and there out by 830pm. those are just ugly hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementI know your under a lot of stress from upper management but just take it easy and let your area loaders do their job. there is no need to threaten or babysit. being under that type of management just sucks. dont try to act like your smarter than your loader especially if they have been doing that position for a long time now.

It's a good first job, but I wouldn't keep it long term.

    Sorter (Current Employee)
    Ontario, CA

Prosconsistent hours, higher starting wage than minimum, benefits, weekends off, days off, health care, no experience needed,

Consunfair work distribution, low seniority equals low everything. Benefits, vacation, sick days, and everything else comes after one year of employment

Advice to Senior Managementtreat all equally, not just high seniority employees

    Good Benefits

    Revenue Recovery Auditor (Current Employee)
    Ontario, CA

ProsGood benefits and pay raises. Union back-up.

ConsToo long to go full-time. Been there 11 yrs and still part time. Everything goes by seniority not by how good of a worker you are.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees who have worked there know how to do their job, don't need a new sup who just got to area telling us how to do our job.

    Good place to work

None of Your Business (Current Employee)
    Ontario, CA

ProsFull-time medical benefits for part-time work
Good place to work as long as you stay within the Union
    Good workout
    Job security

Bottom line is that UPS is a good place to work while you are in school because they not only offer you full medical benefits for part-time work, but they also assist you in paying for school. If I could go back and do it again, I would have stayed hourly in the Union.

ConsLots of politics when it comes to getting promoted from within
Most part-time supervisor jobs aren't worth the stress
They could treat full-time and part-time supervisors better

Bottom line here to is not expect to go anywhere big in the company unless you know the right people. They don't really seem to look at the time, effort, and commitment that individuals such as myself have invested in the company. The full-time supervisors that I've had over the years have been nothing short of great, but I can't say the same for all the higher levels of management I've worked under.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhy bother, it won't make any difference.

Fun people to work with, management is meh

    Air Cargo (Current Employee)
    Ontario, CA

ProsLots of benefits, union protected job.

ConsSometimes the union is unreliable, some management is incompetent & evil.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees better & actually do a better job of weeding out who is management material & who isn't.
