Pros
Exactly what previous person said, if you're a full-time student this job is great. Allows flexible hours since they pay you hourly wages not salary.
Cons
Everything. Management sees you as a working drone. Always looking to increase productivity but they never provide a substantial plan. "This month we need to produce 20 files per day as opposed to the 5 per day currently produced". But they never actually tell you how workers should make their productivity go from 100% to 400%. There's only so much one person can do in one day. Especially when you don't want to pay them over time. They never address any strategies to reach their goal. Pay is horrible. And when they make an error in pay (very frequently) you have to put up quite a fight to get your money back. I was being paid at one job level lower than what I held for about 3 years until I found out. When I finally pointed it out to them they made it seem like they were doing me a favour to pay at the level they should have been paying me at 3 years earlier. Not to mention they didn't add on all the 2% increases I had gained over the years. Another time they forgot to pay out my accumulated vacation pay for the whole year. When I took it to HR they finally paid me... but somehow paid me short.
Any advancement is somehow considered a lateral move. They're willing to give you larger accounts to be responsible for with a higher workload and stress levels but somehow it's not warranted even a 5 cent increase.... how does it make sense?
All in all, work here only if you're desperate.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to see people as people as not just as mindless drones born to do your mindless work. Listen to your employees and take their advice on how processes can be improved. There is alot of room for improvement. Show appreciation to your employees and reward them for the hardwork they do.
I would advise bringing in some sort of professional service to help you develop strategic work plans. There definitely needs to be some consultation on how business processes are carried out.
