    Pros

Comprable salary for the industry, great opportunities to grow.

    Cons

Unable to lead projects due to long term employees getting the best ones.

    Advice to Management

Work on ways to develop staff between five and twenty years' experience.

    Pros

They keep most workers when they got contract.

    Cons

They keep most workers when they got contract. They allowed people with collage but no common sense to get promoted. And when they seen it was a mistake....did nothing about it.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your workers. Just because they are contractors doesn't mean their basic people.

    Pros

Company offers a diverse work force and variety of experiences. Company encourages interoffice communication through websites and social media

    Cons

Since the merger with AECOM bill-ability has become an even larger proponent of job security. The desire to find experienced employees greatly outweighs the companies ability to train less experience/recent grads.

    Advice to Management

Enstill the importance of training to managers. Ensure managers and senior staff do not belittle other employees or degrees they don't agree with.

    Pros

URS legacy processes built the company into a highly successful organization.

    Cons

AECOM lack of leadership and poor HR vision (actually no vision) is resulting in high turnover of top talent and declining employee engagement.

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to fix everything by buying expensive and unproven technology. Listen to the experts from legacy URS who really know how to do this work.

Lots of potential and skilled people.

    Cons

Terrible leadership - plays not to lose. Significant deterioration from the former days of Washington Group which was outstanding.

    Pros

Nothing! Unfortunately this period was a regrettable time and a forgettable one as well.

    Cons

Leadership across the board, low functioning, macho, bullies. Women are disrespected in this workplace, bright young people don't stay long.

    Advice to Management

I hope you figure it out now that you have been acquired by AECOM.

    Pros

Interesting and varied projects with new disciplines being developed in the sustainability field; very reasonable salary for environmental sector; opportunities for career progression; flexible working gaining momentum

    Cons

Lack of rotations during graduate programme (nb Scott Wilson ltd at that time); increasing administrative burden on technical staff as functional staff reduced; lack of emphasis on technical training

    Advice to Management

Greater attention to (particularly junior) staff wishes in terms of subject area. Healthier balance between time control pressure and project realities.
