A great place to work, and live.

    Cyber Transport Craftsman (Current Employee)
    Andrews AFB, MD

ProsThe benefits are great. You will learn great job skills, and you will learn how to do anything you set your mind to doing.

ConsYou may be asked to deploy to unfavorable environments and deal with unexpected occasional travel to foreign countries and possibly give your life for your country.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure you never forget that people come first. Policy was made to be broken.

The pinnacle of discipline, team work, commitment, loyalty, integrity, and process management.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBenefits after retirement, such as GI Bill for college education, continued medical care after active duty service, and being a proud American and have the right to say that you served the country honorably, and defined it selflessly.

ConsThe promotion is clearly based on the ability to pay promoted personnel. Its not based on experience being placed in the right areas. Its like if I don't wont to give you a raise I will make it harder for you to get promoted.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou will never have work for free soldiers. So don't mess with benefits and pay checks. Then again that is happening anyway, and it is definitely showing. The military is making cuts on all levels and soldiers are losing confidence in thinking that the military will secure their future. So not only are the cuts going to be dramatic it is going to continue to be the reason for soldiers to pursue careers some where else.

    Great employer

    Engineer (Former Employee)
    San Antonio, TX

ProsTravel, benefits are some of the best in the world. Got to see so much and meet some of the best workers in any career field.

ConsThe worst part can also be the best. These depolyments can be hard, but also very rewarding. Sometimes can be gone for long periods.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo advice to management at all. I had many great commanders over the years.

One of the most rewarding opportunities available in the US.

O4 - Air Force - Major (Current Employee)
    Colorado Springs, CO

ProsCamaraderie with fellow Airman from around the world, Service to the Nation, Leadership opportunities, training opportunities, skills, knowledge and abilities learned. There is no better organization to work for that has its core values as Integrity, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. The benefits, such as medical, dental, commissary, life insurance, and pay are all perks.

ConsThe potential of working 60 plus hours a week in addition to the task of deploying to dangerous and/or austere environments. However, travel to all parts of the world and seeing different cultures are a definite bonus.
