I have been working at US Airways part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flight benefits, health insurance isn't too bad either. Most of the employees are helpful. Love the flexibility of your schedule

    Cons

Low starting pay, although they are negotiating a higher contract for us. Break rooms could be a little better but they are slowly improving them

I worked at US Airways full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Almost free flights (you have to pay for first class). Discounts on other things like cruises.

    Cons

Always dealing with upset customers. The Charlotte operations is always running like crap so good days are few and far between. You are not provided with the proper tools or authority to take care of the customers. Most employees are nice to each other but always drama with some. They do not care about any other work or your home life. They pay rock bottom and want you to have the dedication of a 100k salary job.

    Advice to Management

Show appreciation to your employees (management and agent) and not only speak to them about negative issues.

    Advice to Management

Be honest & streight forward to your employees.... There your #1 asset. Remember, you were once in there shoes, so keep that in mind.

    Pros

Union: because you will need them

    Cons

Reserve system: full-time reserve, on call 24hrs on duty days Supervisors: are either unavailable and can't be found, then when you do get a hold of them they are no help. Your whole life is centered around them and because of the merger things are always inconsistent

    Pros

Good people to work with. Fly for free. Decent insurance

    Cons

Disconnected upper management. Internal politics is rampant. It's all about the bottom line and nothing else maters even good customer service is non existent. A long way from Piedmont Airlines
