    The benefits of U.S. Airways of fling for free as standby passenger and the customer experiences that you have on a daily base.

    Cons

    The long term of expanding with the company is that you would have to move to grow with the company. the airport never closes you work all year around.

    Pros

    Union: because you will need them

    Cons

    Reserve system: full-time reserve, on call 24hrs on duty days
    Supervisors: are either unavailable and can't be found, then when you do get a hold of them they are no help.
    Your whole life is centered around them and because of the merger things are always inconsistent

    Good Work-life balance, Upper Management is knowledgeable about the industry, opportunity for professional growth

    Cons

    Pay not competitive, Some middle managers/directors are not knowledgeable about the business. The merger with American Airlines has caused a lot of uncertain about job functions and security.

    Need to communicate more at all levels about what is expected. Need to provide greater motivation for employees to stick around.

    Pros

    Great company. Dominated by former America West personnel in upper management. They treated their pilots well.

    Cons

    Once America West merged with US Airways, US Airways east pilots refused to accept a legitimate seniority integration that was arbitrated professionally. This caused eight years of no new contract, stunted growth and career expectations of the former America West pilots. The East hated the West pilots and the West pilots hated the East pilots. Then the company merged with AA. The west pilots are enjoying the east pilots getting hosed.
