    Pros

    Health Benefits. Flight Benefits, trading

    Cons

Horrifying job lead by a bi polar instructor ! For 10.46 I would say go to In/Out Burger. They expect 150% out of you. No support. Left to die once you graduate. Their is mold or something that has everyone sneezing in the building. Yelling customers who get the answer "NO" or 200.00 please. It gets really bad when you have to start making the calls to them.

    Pros

Current usairways employees are great. Flight benefits are ok.

    Cons

The merger with AA is a disaster, cultures are far too different and AA personnel look down to the Usairways employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should have stuck with a winning solution in It instead of an IT organization that brought AA into bankruptcy, would not surprise me if it went that way once more.

    Pros

    Flight Benefits
    Great team dynamic
    Great health benefits
If you don't mind making pennies on the dollar compared to the same position in other companies and like working in silos then this is the place for you!

    Cons

Severe lack of career opportunities and upward movement. Lack of professional growth and training. The salaries are laughable at best and good luck using your flight benefits. I know I put it down as a positive but only if you are flying solo and can get on a flight that doesn't have 200 non-revs already listed that have higher seniority than you. Cross team communication is a joke and vacation/sick time are just not there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create job positions that allow for upward movement. Pay your employees that meet market standards. DON'T MICRO-MANAGE!!!!

    Pros

Travel benefits are awesome. I flew to Europe about 3-4 times a year...also flew to Middle East. Good discounts. Good volunteer / community relations program. Good benefits: paid vacation, 401k w/matching, health...even for part time employees.

    Cons

Constant fear of being laid off or furloughed - especially with AA merger. If you are non-contract, your manager can fire you at any time without notice. Terrible management, at corporate and at small out-stations. Unfair labor practices, discrimination towards women and disabled employees. Manager overheard discussing health problems and personal issues. Inconsistent and conflicting information and communication...especially on employee website (Wings). Managers 'hoard' information so as to have more power. Low wages: my part time pay was below the poverty line. However, a new hire doing the same job was paid $2 an hour more. wth? No training programs....you just have to figure things out, then get written up for making mistakes. Procedures and company policies are unclear and not consistent. HR unwilling to hear about actual practices in the workplace. High stress. Many hours of overtime work that I was not compensated for. Low morale in some workgroups, bordering on a hostile work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Where on earth do you find your middle managers??? Some of the worst station managers / shift mangers I have ever seen: unfair, inept, incompetent, and clueless. Do more audits. Visit smaller stations. Listen to front line and customer-facing employees...especially senior employees. When employees express concerns and/or complaints about the same things, regarding the same managers...it is usually true. Adopt new management criteria during AA merger. Don't mislead or lie to loyal employees. Don't discriminate just because you don't 'like' someone. Be fair and be honest.

    Pros

Lots of hard-working people who share similar values; opportunities to learn and for career growth; focus on actions and results (as opposed to process)

    Cons

Internal politics, including people who take credits for other colleagues' work or step into other departments' roles; some bad apples and/or below-average performers which the company can't seem to get rid of

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to treat employees as people and not as numbers

    Pros

I appreciated the benefits; health, dental, 401K, flight, etc..

    Cons

It doesn't matter how much you put in or give to the company, the good deeds don't matter when you make a mistake. Especially when you're not in the union. Management can cut you for any reason they want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some time to know your front line people before passing judgement on then.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Good people and for the most part talented people. On the whole, it is a fun company to work for. visionary senior management.

    Cons

Pay could be better. The company is very finance-centric, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but something to be aware of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Part of a leaders job is to mentor and to help top performers advance in responsibility - and that is not consistent among departments

Current Employee - Corporate Purchasing Intern in Tempe, AZ

    Pros

Very nice environment with a lot of good people that enjoy being there. Many opportunities to learn and expand, not a typical internship where you only work on one project. This internship gives you the opportunity to learn something new everyday.

    Cons

Cons would be hiring is only available as the positions are needed. Aside from that there are really no cons, this is a great company.
