    Full Time: Decent

Fund Accountant (Current Employee) Hackensack, NJ

ProsIt's great to start your career. Pay is average, and great culture.

ConsIn a long run, it's an ideal place to grow, if you want to expand your role and responsibilities as you progress your career.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more both time and money in employees.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Politics, miscommunications, high turnover

Mutual Fund Specialist II-Contact Center (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsMost of the coworkers are great, large team feel, ability to shadow in other departments to learn how things relate, hours aren't horrible, with the market closed on weekends and holidays, that's nice.

ConsMiscommunication, one manager will say one thing, another will say something different. If you do not associate with the "in" crowd, don't expect a promotion. High turnover, by the time you really get to know someone they have left, either somewhere else in the company or another company all together. Schedules are not released on a timely basis, you have to give more notice for time off than they give you your schedule. Schedule a week in advance, you need to give 2 weeks for time off.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to get on the same page, back door politics need to disappear.

    USBFS Mutual Funds CSR I

Mutual Funds Customer Service Representative I (Former Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsHelpful coworkers, opportunities for advancement, nice facilities, good work / life balance, decent benefits, friendly management and coworkers, variety of responsibility

ConsDated technology, no internet access in my division, denied participation in employee appreciation activities, some adversarial coworkers, seemed to promote and reward schmoozers rather than performers

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't try to force employees to behave as if they were dedicated through unusual rules, rather give freedom but promote a culture of dedication.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Look elsewhere

Fund Administration (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

    Pros- Ok advancement opportunities
    - Good experience

    Cons- Below market pay
    - "Promotions" don't generally mean pay increase
    - Brown nosers typically get rewarded
    - Surrounded by lazy employees, which means extra work for others

Advice to Senior ManagementReward good employees or they will leave.

    Great company!

Team Lead - Mutual Fund Specialist IV (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsAwesome company with advancement opportunities, great benefits, and very supportive.

ConsAt any level of management the pay isn't the greatest, good for the banking industry. Compared to other jobs in Healthcare or Engineering the pay is weak.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay management more so us subbordinates have a good pay to look forward to. If the managers are making less than the team leads after overtime, than there is no point toward taking on the added respoonsibilty of a manager.

    Overall Not a Good Experience

Fund Administration (Former Employee) Milwaukee, WI

Pros- Good experience working with clients, auditors, etc.

Cons- Pay is below market rates (you must ask for a raise when receiving a 'promotion'). Other companies in the same line of business pay much more, even when taking into account cost of living differences.
    - There is no such thing as teamwork.
    - Communication between departments is horrible.
    - Work/life balance is not very good. Again, mainly due to the lack of teamwork.

Advice to Senior Management- Employees are only staying due to the uncertainty in the economy. Once things pick up, expect people to leave, unless you pay the employees who perform and continuously receive compliments from clients and board members.
