I have been working at US Installation Group

    Pros

    Low expectations from management.
    Friendly co-workers.

    Cons

    Atrocious turnover rate.
Large portion of staff keep their head down to not get noticed and be part of the turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

When a position is filled several times and people are fired or quit, the problem lies with the manager.

    Pros

    Paycheck for the weak...not week.

    Cons

Take every bad experience you have had in a workplace and put it all in a Homer Depot Orange Bucket, and you have USIG

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse before there are no installers left. They are your bread and butter. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Give a little..get a little. Stop stealing installers Retainage, it will come back to bite you someday.

    Pros

    Absolutely No Pros at all.

    Cons

Unbelievable amount of backstabbing and robbing of Installers. Owner is tied to the Mob and has been all over the news and his mentality is obvious throughout the entire USIG organization. They have mastered the art of using Installers and their lack of education to act as a financial buffer between them and Home Depot.
If Home Depot charges USIG for something they satisfied THEIR customer with, then USIG charges the Installation Sub Contractor, even if it had nothing to do with the Subcontractor's actions. Then when the Sub disputes the Chargeback he is told that he has the choice to work elsewhere. There is no disputing the chargebacks, because they ARE TAKEN WITHOUT CONSENT.
Then Retainage ($3500 for carpet guys) and ($5000) for Wood and Tile installers- IS KEPT in MOST cases and the GM's of each facility have each been asked to find ways to charge back to the installer ANYTHING HOME DEPOT CHANRGES USIG. There are several past and present USIG installers and Employees who have started a coalition and we will start fighting for you too!!!
USIG has hurt THOUSANDS of you all. We are sick and tired and we won't take it any longer. It ends in 2015.

    Pros

To make a couple paychecks while looking for other employment and then be out the door.

    Cons

Everything about the place is a negative. You work like a Hebrew slave, no training, you literally have to train yourself and then they get upset if you make a mistake, low pay, co workers are hard to get along with and upset all because their so overloaded with work. I have you pinch myself to make sure this is not a horrible nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Why bother they could care less.

I worked at US Installation Group

    Pros

To tell you the truth I can't think of any.

    Cons

You work way to much. On average I worked 70 hrs a week, and did not bring home much money. The management does not care about it's employees. They keep telling everyone that the are finding help, but it never comes. The only time you hear from upper management is when they are going to yell at someone, but that is everyday. They treat there installed like garbage sometimes giving them double their capacity. This company has no ethics and you will regret taking the job here.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees. Give a better hourly wage, and don't have so much mandatory overtime.

    Pros

    NONE!

Work or contract for another organization

    Cons

    - Managers and employees and hired and fired weekly
    - Extremely unorganized
    - Terrible communication between staff, contractors and HD
    - Mistakes are always blamed and passed off to the installers
    - Installers and employees are treated like garbage
    - The company will fire you or terminate your contract if you do not do what they want (although you are a contractor)
    - It does not matter how loyal you are to the company or how much you go out of your way to
complete jobs, they will terminate your contract over their mistakes/errors
    - Company will soon be dissolved
    - The problem starts with upper-management and snowballs down to the individual facilities and contractors
**DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY**

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and installers and treat them with respect and dignity.

    Pros

A handful of employees are nice.

    Cons

Most abusive, negative and disrespectful culture I've ever experienced. Lots of drama and humiliating screaming matches between the owner and his employees. NO training at all. You are a branch manager one day and a data entry person the next. No direction, no organization, no HR department. No direct deposit. Mass of employees flying out the door on payday to cash their checks. You will NOT get paid on time if a holiday is approaching. Super expensive benefits. NO coffee service, Cannot order office supplies. Employees are NOT allowed to approach managers without calling them first. One day someone is in tears, the next they are fired. The company joke is for others to place bets on who is getting fired that day. Do your homework. Google this place, the managers and the owner BEFORE you accept a job. They will promise you anything to take the job and then turn around and fire you the next week because you didn't deliver what they thought they wanted you to deliver. They explain nothing. No training. Very bad. Shocked that The Home Depot uses this shady operation. Google the owner, Bruce DeLuca, and let that be a starting place.

    Advice to Management

Get professional counseling to learn how to be managers and run a successful company. What you are doing now is not working. 85% turnover rate is nothing to be proud of. Stop the yelling and screaming and being abusive to your employees.

    Pros

There are no pro's to working with this company. Run and don't look back!

    Cons

The employees run scared, passing the buck so they won't lose their jobs. They take no responsibility for their overworked blunders. They treat the customers like crap, no manners at all, they act like they're doing the customers a favor. They say they call the customers and leave messages and don't. They back charge the installers for their mistakes and pay them the lowest install prices in the industry.

    Advice to Management

    Have a heart!
