I have been working at US National Guard part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great benefits such as college money, health insurance, life insurance, good pay for the relatively low time commitment.

    Cons

Deployments can be disruptive. Sometimes drill isn't at a convenient time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more flexible with soldiers schedules. We have full-time commitments outside the part-time guard!

I have been working at US National Guard part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

You will be paid for every day you serve, whether in training, weekend drills, Annual Training or deployment. Your rank, job (MOS) and education level will determine your specific pay level. The higher you go, the more you make. And the more time you serve, the more you earn. You serve 20 years or more with the Guard, you will be entitled to retirement benefits. Because you are able to hold a civilian job during your enlistment, your Guard benefits will be in addition to other benefits.Veterans Affairs help you get into your own house. Guard members may be eligible for home loans with little to no down payment.

    Cons

When you join the Guard, you create a world where goals are within your grasp. It’s not easy, but you’ll overcome whatever challenge is laid out before you.
