It has been an adventure not just a job.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFrom the deepest depths of the ocean to the top of the atmosphere the opportunities are unlimited. I started out enlisting in the nuclear power field and now I am retiring as a Naval aviator. I have sailed the world. Flown in incredible places. Shore duty did make up for operational tours for the most part.

ConsConstant time requirements away from family. I did not like the sea shore rotations of enlisted life. Squadron life was very hectic even when not preparing for deployment.

E5 - Navy - Petty Officer Second Class (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsAwesome place to work. Had an awesome adventure the whole time i worked for them. It is definitely for those who seeks adventure. travel, leisure, and for those who are over achiever.

ConsHave nothing bad to say because I enjoyed my time in the U.S. Navy the entire time I served. Only regret I have was that I could no longer serve due to overmanned and not having enough time left to go back.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage people to join even for just four years. The time will go by fast. At the least you will get the GI bill benefits at the end of your four years with an honorable discharge if you decide not to make it a career.

You get in what you give out

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsYou get career experience. You learn how to deal with people, and of course, you travel the world!

ConsYou have to deal with many other people - some of them can be very low quality people. You can sometimes be working 7 days a week with no breaks. You spend too much time away from your family.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork Life Balance.
