I worked at USA Network as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great internal programs for training/learning about other departments/and just overall information or updates on NBC Universal as a whole. Everyone really seems like they are happy to be working there.

    Cons

Cubicles, a lot of independent work. Although everyone talks to one another you spend most of your time at your cubicle working independently.

I have been working at USA Network (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Casual atmosphere, coworkers, the prestige of walking into NBC

    Cons

No bonuses under VP level. Raises for under Director level are 2.3-3% yearly. Needs clean slate of execs from dev to mktg.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Share in the $1 billion profit you claim to garner every year and reward the employees that make USA #1 for almost a decade. Show us the money rather than year after year taking away our iTunes xmas gift card, Jcrew summer gift card, end of summer nosh and nibbles thanking us for another successful summer of show launches.

Former Employee - Administrative Assistant in New York, NY

I worked at USA Network full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee perks (especially at 30 Rock) like free lunches/events and celebrity meet and greets, special treatment if you're on the right people's good side, working at #1 (household) rated cable channel and NBCU's highest grossing network.

    Cons

Politics (but what workplace doesn't have that?), little access to upper management, strict policies, little appreciation depending on what department you work in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more transparent and less precious with information (ie. ratings), take more creative chances, care about EVERYONE at every position and level.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
