    I have been working at USA Pools part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Getting to sit by the pool and be paid is always a dream job. Sometimes though unqualified coworkers and management issues can get the best of you.

    Cons

    Sometimes poor management and having to deal with unruly pool patrons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more involved with your guards at their level. occasionally come to the pool and see what happens on a daily basis.

    I worked at USA Pools as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    If you are a manager you get to make your own schedule
    1099 employee

    Cons

    Fielding a staff of reliable and competent lifeguards.
    Once a month manager meetings
    Cleaning bathrooms

    I worked at USA Pools

    Pros

    The companies include but are not limited to USA POOLS of Del Marva,Pennsylvania, Houston,New York, AMI,Pool management Inc,Rite Pools,USA Pools construction and more.They use these multiple companies to manipulate bids to win contracts. They lie to their clients about their employees 1099 status.The clients are unaware that insurance doesn't cover subcontractors and that moves liability to the client.

    Cons

    You are worked as a 1099 subcontractor even though you position qualifies you as a w-2.As a 1099 you are liable if an accident happens on your watch.Staff turn them in to the department of labor and IRS because they are stealing payroll taxes from you and illegally classifying you as a subcontractor. Verify this statement by going to the DOL website and see what the qualifications of a w-2 verses a 1099.Don't be intimidated by their threats because their are laws that protect you from retaliation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop cheating the system. You can only lie so long before you get caught and eventually everyone will know who you are and how you operate.Eventually you will fail.

    I have been working at USA Pools part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    I love the option of being able to earn supplementary income while I am away from college during the summer. I am offered to apply and return each summer as an Aquatic Facility Manager in my area. They also have future options for me when i graduate college to work for the company full-time!

    Cons

    The only con is that because I do work seasonally, I have to reapply every summer so the Human Resources are aware I would like to return.

    I have been working at USA Pools part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Easy job with a lot of responsibility. Decent pay for the low amount of experience required. Management is a lot more lenient than many other companies my friends worked for.

    Cons

    There were only three people assigned to the pool I worked at and two had to be working at all times. Therefore, I had to work almost every day, but I didn't mind it and I made a lot of money by the end of the summer.

    Pros

    I got to write my own schedule, flexable hours and I met a lot of nice people my own age.

    Cons

    I enjoyed very much and look forward to doing it again.

    Pros

    They give you (almost) the salary you request
    They allow you to work on your own if you demonstrate that you are intelligent.

    Cons

    No holidays off.
    Schedule is very strict.
    High price of uniforms.
    Responsibilities are generally more cleaning related the life guarding related.

    Pros

    They are a fair company that will treat its employees well if they do not create problems. It is easy to watch a pool and not create drama.

    Cons

    There are several yearly meetings where they review the same information which gets tedious. There are no benefits which should be expected with a lifeguard position.

    I worked at USA Pools

    Pros

    This company manages pool locations all over the metro area, so there was a location close to my house - making my commute very comvortable.

    Cons

    At the end of the season (the end of my contract), when I applied for unemployment, they sued me saying that I had violated my employment contract and withheld my end of season bonus. This has happened to everyone that I know who has worked for them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do not scam your employees. Treat the people you hire with respect and your clients will recieve a superior product. If you continue to treat your employees like you do, then you will continue to have a high turn-over rate and a poor relationship with your client communities.
