I worked at USA800 full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The companies that usa 800 chooses to do business with are typically fun to work with on a daily basis... the management team does what they can with what they have (not much training or support for them to get any development)

    Cons

Tom Davis - when you're work experience doesn't 'fork', you've got issues... only knows USA 800... let's his EGO drive his decisions... thinks he knows how to improve culture, but as is typical with Tom, he 'talks the talk' but rarely... IF EVER... 'walks the walk'... hires his family and friends and treats them better than any other employees... too bad this company is "in the family" - from his uncle to the current board - or else it might actually have a future...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a neutral board of directors together and have a vote of confidence for the current leadership... just like that book they're all reading about the five disfunctions of a team, they need to move Tom Davis out of the top spot into just a sales role and let a more experienced leader take the company to another level

    Pros

Calm easy going enviroment people are very friendly. Its easy to be a supervisor in this company. Pay not to shabby

    Cons

Lots of training, they send people home when it is going to be busy later on.. which causes people on dedicated accounts to take other calls. HR can't follow their own rules. Random rule changes.

    I worked at USA800

    Pros

    employee owned, good financial potential

    Cons

They want to be a good company, have plenty of rules and guidelines, just don't enforce any of them. Too many people who just show up, employee owned, but they have no concept of what potential that gives them for a future

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    enforce your guidelines

I have been working at USA800 full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Meeting new people and a paycheck.

    Cons

You don't get paid much and they are always throwing you in different training classes so you have so many accounts, but you are never paid more. They have loyal employees but always send us home early so you never get 40 hours a week. They are always interviewing which is a slap in the face to the people working there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate the loyal employees you have. Actually try working and not making it seem like we are a bother to you when we need help. Try sticking to the dresscode before coming up to us about dresscode when you are clearly in violation. Double standard needs to go, we are all adults.

I have been working at USA800 full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Job with straight forward expectations, with decent pay and bonus structure. Fun environment where you pretty much choose if you want to sink or be successful.

    Cons

You have to be available 10 hours a day and work 8 hours, you schedule can change up to 48 hours with no notice. For most people this would be horrible I came from a 10.5 work day so I am fine with it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None at this time.

    Pros

You can request to leave early.
decent pay rate per hour, they pay you as much as they are able to,

    Cons

There is only one good manager on the sales side, the other ones are bimbos.
always scrambling to find a seat, and have to share equipment
    high turn over rate.
point system for being sick, late, or emergencies.
Will hire anybody that shows up for an interview.
Blackout period where you can have no time off between november and january 1st.
even if you are part time, they can add additional hours to your schedule and there is nothing you can do about it. except take a point of course.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at USA800 full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Used to be their commission, but they took that from us recently.

    Cons

This company pays very low, which in turn equals hiring individuals who cannot perform to the management's expectations, which in turn causes high turnover. For those employees who do a good job, they are the ones pulling all the weight while management steals the glory.

They recently took away almost all incentives and commission so there is nothing left to motivate employees other than doing enough to keep their job.

They've increased all working hours to be 10 hour days, you have to request a bathroom break and can sometimes get denied, if you call to request coming in a little late or leaving early then they will write you up based on a point system.

I've never in my life worked for such a disfunctional company that abuses it's employees in this manner. This is the epitome of taking advantage of those people who are in desperate need of jobs during this extreme recession.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove the favoritism, replace the managers with those who know how to motivate and mentor, pay more money to hire qualified individuals to keep them as long term employees so that turnover decreases, and bring back the incentives that make people want to do a great job so that it's performanced-based. Drastic changes are needed to save this company.
