    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your emotions out of your decisions. Run your department by policy. Give credit in reviews, give coaching and discipline only to when warranted. We all know you have the title, you've probably earned it. Don't look for ways or reasons to remind your team everyday of it.

Former Employee - Project Manager in San Antonio, TX

I worked at USAA full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic benefits, tuition program, development and growth opportunities, onsite facilities, top of the line technology, professional employees, and morale building initiatives to show employees that the company truly cares for their well being. You name it, the company has it all!

    Cons

Some perceive the environment to be a a little bit of a big brother watching you environment. I figure if your not doing anything wrong, then it should not be a problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have succession planning for those identified as up and comers, or who has the potential to be a future leader within the company. Networking across various lines of buisness to get visibility on a position you are interested in is challenging.

I have been working at USAA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Outstanding company. Outstanding people. Great training. Great PTO. Incredible culture. Really very little I don't love about the company.

    Cons

If you don't like being in a call center, it's not for you. If you don't like being challenged every day and having to think more than your normal call center job, it's not for you. If you don't have an appreciation for the military, go somewhere else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on sales and more on service. If you judge people by their numbers and not by their call quality, then it's pushing more for numbers than service. That's not our motto.
