  7. Great by the members. Less than acceptable for the frontline employees.

    I worked at USAA

    Pros

A million dollar cafeteria, a yearly bonus that is heavily taxed, countless resources that improve interpersonal skills that will be of little to no use internally, a computer system that has outdated software with a speed dial to technical support that will clean your cookies.

    Cons

Less than national average salary. Low merit increase percentages. Minimal internal promotion. Highly political where feedback from the frontline has little to no impact in changing the moral or a action plan to improve frontline employee experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The advice is pointless just as pride group is. usaa is set in there ways respectfully what they do works for the members but for the majority of employees.

I have been working at USAA full-time

    Pros

I've been at USAA for about two years and have been in two of the three major areas (banking, insurance and investments) that the company offers. The facilities are excellent and everyone is very nice and easy to work with. I've heard some complaints internally about base salaries, but employees receive a company-wide, across-the-board annual bonus in February of around 15 - 18% of annual salary (the last two - albeit historic - years have been 18.8% and 18.7%) plus an 'extra paycheck' bonus around the Christmas holiday.

The benefits package is outstanding (overly generous time off, great health/dental/vision).

    Cons

Call center work is monotonous, no doubt about it. The Tampa, FL site is largely a call center site with some off-the-phone teams mixed in here and there. With that said, there's really no cons beside that. The only con an outsider would experience is the difficulty getting into the company in the first place. Once you're in you have one of the most secure jobs in the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep on keepin' on.

I have been working at USAA full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Total compensation, Worklife balance, awesome 401(k) with Roth option, the lowest fees I've ever seen & huge match & bonusessss!!!

    Cons

Punctuality. This is a very regimented place to work. You must be there ready to work for the full time you're there except for the 35 minute lunch break, & two 20 minute breaks (enough time for two Ping pong matches)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change Humana PCA to HSA
